That would be one of the South Carolina Highway Patrol Mutual Aid TGs.
Let me get that added to the database.

From what I understand NCSHP is doing their campaign of cracking down
on distracted drivers in many parts of NC. Probably has something to do with that.
TGIDs have been added to the database.

No problem oft. I try to make notes of the odd TGs I see pop up every now and then. That's the one great thing about VIPER, you never know what you might hear one second, then its gone the next. The status bits and such can be confusing at times.

I was once heavily involved with the legacy NHC 800 system some years ago, but those days have long passed, at least 10 years now.....

I can not tell you any of the conversation because the scanner was monitoring the wilmington VIPER primary control channel only and the audio was the CC data noise. Also, I could not tell you the talkgroup name because either it is not identified or I do not have the Trunk88 properly configured. I finally figured out how to get it to display the tgid's earlier this evening. I am leaning towards not having the Trunk88 properly configured because none of the tgid's that came up in Trunk88 that are in the VIPER database were identified by Trunk88. (I am referencing my post in the software thread and am crossing a thin line between blurring the threads)

---

I also picked up minutes later tgid # 18992 (and tgid# 19904 that may be the same thing based on the conversation about status bits if i understand correctly) that is not in the database under these same conditions using the C-CH Output / CC data noise going into Trunk88.

Any updates on what tgid # 18992 (and tgid# 19904 that may be the same thing based on the conversation about status bits if i understand correctly) might be? I picked it up earlier this evening and got audible voice with aeronautical talk about altitude and how many minutes of fuel left in the plane or helicopter; but not anything that would let me know what agency it might be or physically where this tgid is located.

On another note, some time back, the "NC Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) Talkgroups" were updated where old tgid's were removed and new ones were added. Well throughout this evening, the old ALE tgid# 5840 which was once listed as "ALEDIST3" (which happens to be the district where I live) has been very active with alcohol related conversations especially mentioning certain bars and their locations. I figured that since this is Super Bowl weekend, the ALE is out in full force doing underage Compliance checks.

Sounds like the 867.4000 transmitter is hung up on the Cane Mtn site. Zone 2 (C123) Site 34.

Picked up tgid # 18992 again earlier this afternoon. It is some sort of medical transport helicopter. The conversation was of aeronautical talk about altitude, weather conditions, and how many minutes of fuel left in the helicopter. There was also audible mention of two passengers on board consisting of patient plus the patient's husband.

Just a guess, but I wonder if it could be one of New Hanover Regional Med Center Airlink talkgroups, being that TG #18960 is one of theirs.

Since I have absolutely nothing to do this weekend I'll be devoting a lot of time to sleuthing for new frequencies on the road and cleaning up the database. Look for all of the Zone 2 & 4 sites to be touched for minor corrections, mainly GPS coordinates and updated range data; so don't panic with all of the green listings.

I'll also be adding some information to some Eastern NC counties that I found last weekend on a trip to Greenville. If anyone has any basic TLC requests to clean up a county or TRS, shoot me a PM and I'll try to knock it out this weekend.

Default New Talkgroup

I just hit on a Viper talkgroup a few minutes ago. I have heard a couple conversations on it so far. Sound like law enforcement communications. They are calling Warsaw. From the conversation I am assuming it might be Warsaw Police. Just wanted to let you know what I had heard.

A TGID number might be handy
The more info you share the better off we all are.
Thanks!

Was the talk group you picked up 51056?

Still picking up tgid # 18992 - I am beginning to wonder if randyK's observations from post #70 is correct? But I still haven't heard anything identifying it to NHRMC.

I too have picked up activity from tgid's #16768 and 16496 per basstuba's observations from post #67. but no voice. just clicks of the end of radio conversations.

Around 3:15 this afternoon, while playing with the Trunk88, I did pick up the tgid# 9296 and also tgid# 18736 within Trunk88.

Interesting publication if your interested in The North Carolina Medical Communications Network (NCMCN) and VIPER Medical Network (NCVMN)

http://www.ncdhhs.gov/dhsr/EMS/pdf/dtmfref.pdf

(ps, I did a search for this in the forum before posting this but didn't see it. Thanks for understanding the duplicate info)

Thumbs up

Hey glyman!
Good to have you with us
Yep the DTMF Reference guide along with the dial code book have been around a long time and are great reference guides. They have adapted to meet the changes with VIPER.
We usually end up with them linked at least once in these VIPER info threads (you can find them in the archived VIPER threads as well) but it never hurts to be reminded they are around.
Thanks for the reminder and Happy Monitoring!

My apologies. I thought I had typed it in with the text. Obviously I didn't. LOL. Yes the talkgroup was 51056 and I have heard more conversations on it since. Nothing too revealing but it sounds more like a Law Enforcement dispatch channel than a talk around channel. Still think it has something to do with Warsaw Police. I have also hit on another talkgroup in the Duplin county area. The talkgroup is 45792. I'm not sure what it is but the communication on the channel is more casual than as would be on a dispatch channel. I'm thinking it might be something to do with Duplin County Sheriff's Office. It fits in with the other talkgroups that they are using.

Looking for ID for Viper TG 65456 heard on CC 868.5750 and/or 868.8875, Barium Springs and/or Mooresville Sites.
Conversation appeared to be about a CI, sounded like a drug task force or something.

Not finding anything in this thread, the database, or lord forbid, Google.
