What about the 24th (next Thursday)? As far as whatever place we go it doesn't matter to me so I guess the next step would be to figure out where, and if on the first meeting if we want to bring any gear to show off, or if we want to use this meeting to start getting organized.

Suggestions on that note?

24th works for me. I'll definitely be bringing my handful of scanners and radios and what not. I'll have my laptop too, so if worse comes to worst, I can demo Trunk88 & Pro96Com for any of those who aren't familiar, we can also stuff our faces and go over what we want to make of this little get together from now on.

Chris, sounds like a good idea. I'd like to see how Trunk88 works. I've never really had the chance to mess around with it much. I think Shannon (CFP387) only checks the site when he's at work so it'll probably be tomorrow before he responds. I'm thinking maybe Gary's BBQ in China Grove (on Hwy 29 near Exit 68 of I-85) may be the best shot to have plenty of room. I feel certain I could call ahead and make sure we've got the extra room.

I'm thinking let's nail down the 24th as the date unless we get a huge uproar about it. 1900 sound like a good time?

Works for me, I'll add it in and keep an eye on here for anything further. Anyone else care to chime in with a yay or nay?

Alrighty, I'll put it on the calendar as a tenative and hopefully some others will chime in. I'm hoping since we're waiting almost 2 weeks that it'll give people time to plan to come.

CFP387, when you see this let us know. I figured Gary's would be good for you given your location

Gary's is fine with me; I frequent that restaurant at least once a week anyway.

Well that's 3 of us. Chris, if you need directions let me know. It's really easy to find. Hoping some others will chime in.

We'd love to have ya Bill.

For those that need it for GPS the address at for Gary's BBQ is 620 U.S. 29 China Grove, NC 28023.

If anyone needs actual directions just let myself or CFP387 know and we can get ya headed in the right direction !!

Once yall decide on a date and time let me know. Send me all of the meeting info (time, location, etc) and I will create a temporary sticky thread to help get word out.

Hey Marshall,

It seems the consensus is that we're going to meet on Jan 24th at 1900 at Gary's BBQ in China Grove. For GPS the address is: 620 U.S. 29 China Grove, NC 28023

I greatly appreciate you making this a sticky & offering to make another. If anyone else needs any info, or doesn't have GPS and needs directions tell them to let me know and we'll get them there. Gary's is right off I-85 (Exit 68).

We have also decided to bring some gear along with us so let people know if they're coming and want help with a problem to bring whatever piece of equipment with them and hopefully someone will be able to help them with it.
Thanks again bud !!

Well, looks like I'm out of this one. I start a 3 month program next week that'll keep me up Raleigh way during the weeks and home on weekends. Maybe once I return, I can attend a meet up with y'all.

Just want to make sure those who have responded and said they were good for Thursday are still on for meeting. This Thursday at 1900, Gary's BBQ in China Grove !!

I'd love to come, however, a tight budget and work will keep me here in Florence.

Post up when the next one is, I'd like to attend.

Its a shame no one here in SC wants to do something like this!

I'm still planning on heading that way, looks like a relatively small group so far, but fun nonetheless.

That's what it's looking like Chris, but a smaller group isn't to bad I guess. Give us a good chance to see if this is something we can make a regular thing of and may just be the right number of people to get us "established" and start getting the groundwork laid for it.

I'll try and be there, no promises, but maybe. Will be bringiing my scanner and laptop, so if someone could bring a Programming Cable for a PRO-164, that would be nice so I can get my 164 rebanded.
