I have read the threads available, but was wondering if there was a setup guide for the 996XT for Wake Co. I have watched a few videos using FreeScan. Is it as simple as IMPORTing the database via premium subscription (which I have), selecting the nearest control frequency and then selecting the talkgroups I wish to hear?

I apologize if this has been answered before but I only see 20 threads and didn't see anything specifically referencing the 996XT.

Thanks.

ETA: Looks like what I'm interested in listening to is all on the Wake Co Simulcast.

Thanks for the help.

If using the Freescan import tool for the Wake Simulcast, should I modify the "Trunk Frequencies" to these below?

---853.150Mhz
---853.9625Mhz
---853.7875Mhz
---853.5375Mhz

I assume these are the control freqs, but the import tools pulls back stuff from 851-853.

Just wanted to make sure I'm doing this right.

Those are the 4 Control Channel Frequencies. You gotta have those. :)
The other frequencies are voice freqs which you don't have to import.
Let me know if you get really stuck.

Thanks Marshall.

After removing all but the control frequencies, everything seems a lot more stable.
