Those are all trunking system sites. They are part of a large state wide system. The 2 would be like district 2 site 051 the 33 is the hex number for 51. Each frequency is part of that site. Most state wide systems a local town or county would only be allowed to use sites in their area for local use but may have a state wide interop fleet programmed into their radios.

Those 3 mentioned sites are within a 10 mile radius of me, so if i did zipcode programming on a Hp1 would it scan these sites?
Also like on this one what does "D" in the mode column mean?

The frequencies with an a at the end are alternate or backup control channels. The frequencies with a C at the end are the primary or main control channel for that site.

The D in the mode column means it is digital modulation and requires a digital scanner to listen. An E in theode column means that the talk group is encrypted and can not be listened to unless it is unencrypted, which is not possible with a scanner or scanning software.

As I understand the sites have a address and if you do a zipcode with a 25 mile search yes along with a large block of data you might not want to hear. You could import into groups the things you want to hear and have faster scans.

Being in Ashe County, what could i expect to hear from these sites?
And if I set up a Hp1 by the zipcode, would it automatically load these?

I hope this doesn't sound to much like a smart tail, but with those 3 sites. I'd say everything in Ashe County, as well a good bit of Watauga and Avery County, possibly some western Alleghany and northern Wilkes county traffic (local agencies and all depending what those individual counties and agencies have allowed with regard to what sites that each talkgroup can access). NCSHP (Via NEWTON Radio) should be good for TRP F DIST 2 & 3 as well as other state and federal users that may be in the area.

Hope that's makes a little bit of sense.

No problem. Keeping it all in once place will hopefully get you the answers you need.

Don't over complicate it. Add the Ashe County sites, then add the highway patrol talkgroups then press scan. Newton is merely the communications center, there is no site there.
