Does anyone know the meaning of the priority numbers dispatchers assign to calls? Thank you.

The police dispatch as priority 1, 3, or 5 for the most part. 1 is the highest and is often, but not always, blue lights and siren. The majority of the calls are priority 3 which is get to it soon. 5 is the lowest of the common and that is when time is of no importance. In addition to the speed the police get to the call it is also important to the time the dispatcher has to dispatch it. I don't recall the exact times but a 1 call must be dispatch within maybe 3 minutes, a 3 can sit in queue for maybe 25 minutes and the 5 has a longer time. This is why you sometimes hear a dispatcher say, " I have a priority 3 turning . . . ." That means that 25 or so minute span is about to expire and the call must go out. For whatever it is worth, Animal Control has priority 2, 4, or 6.
