One question, one note:
Heard some tech talk today on the Chapel Hill FD primary talk group on the Orange 800 system. Heretofore have heard only UNC using it. Maybe they're readying for the jump?

My BCD-396T can't detect control-channel traffic on any of the RDU 800 freqs listed in the database. Any chance they've changed or added freqs? I do get RDU traffic repeated on the few talkgroups listed for RDU on the Wake/VIPER system, but zippo on the RDU system itself. Would appreciate any insights.

The chatter on CH Fire's talkgroup was digital. UNC PD dispatch and UNC's med choppers, are also showing up as P25. As far as I know, AirCare is still using the UHF channels, too, but they were operating on the VIPER system today.

According to Marshall, KE4ZNR & NC Forums Moderator, RDU has switched over exclusively to the VIPER Wake County Simulcast.

I've never figured out why they chose to isolate themselves. But then, one has to ask the same about the Durham SO's hanging out apart from everyone else.

If only Raleigh PD would switch over everything would be great.
