Stolen Police Car

I just heard SHP giving out a report of a stolen undercover police car from Mecklingburg County. A Grey 2004 Dodge Intrepid loaded with multiple firearms and gas masks.

I bet that officer feels like a fool.

He was working off duty at an appartment complex, and parked his unit to go on foot patrol. When he got back, his car was gone, and another stolen vehicle was sitting next to where he was parked.

It could happen to anyone!

I live in that complex.
It use to be a very nice place.
Management started moving AI students in and crime she is a'risin'.
My Jeep has only been broke into twice.
Does make for good scanning though.

One strange thing about the car theft though.
I have many friends in local LE.
But I don't know that many with CMPD that is going to walk when they can ride.

Locked or Unlocked?

Bob is right about it happening to anyone. Most LE vehicles I've ever locked my keys in ...er, had to open with a slim jim weren't that hard to get into.
