I've noticed that AVFD get paged on the voice
pager just like any other town/community in
Wake County, well, except the TOWN of Cary.
However, never on the
digital pager. At first, I thought that it
had become a paid department and the
page on 154.19 MHz was just to set off
the buzzer in the station and turn the
lights in the bunk room on at night.
But I saw a pix of the station on WRAL-TV
the other night and it is still a VFD. Anyone
know why they don't use the digital pager?
Too poor to afford them?
Thanks1
