I have an unknown medevac logged on 464.350/469.350 210.7 PL that was getting into another repeater I monitor. I can't remember the name they gave but it might have been Regional 1.

Regional 1 is based out of Spartanburg, SC at Spartanburg Regional Medical center. They contact their ground countrol/dispatcher using the Palmetto 800 state-wide trunked radio system on talkgroup 3856, State Air-Ground. When out of range of the trunked radio system, the use Spartanburg County Fire 2, 154.025/85.4 PL, or a mobile telephone.

Regional 1 serves the Upstate of South Carolina and Western NC.

The Duke "Lifeflight" program uses 464.350 R. The two repeater sites use PL tones of 136.5 Hz, and 167.9 Hz. I have never logged the input for either site.

They must have a field programmable radio because a couple months ago they were flying to York County and dispatch gave them the frequency and PL tone to use to communicate with the units on scene. I can't remember the frequency but it was in the 154mhz range.

155.535 / 127.3 is the high band frequency being used for patches to the TRS talkgroups ... including the medical helicopters, and fire and rescue agencies that may be providing a mutual aid response in York County.

There is also a UHF channel for patching.

Some frequency resources still list 155.535 / 127.3 as a regional L-E mutual aid channel. That is no longer the case.

I knew it was around 154mhz or 155mhz but I couldn't remember the exact frequency.

Helos usually would have a programmable radio for the reason that they could be anywhere as needed. I remember in 1999 when the NC highway patrol chopper came to Brunswick county, they were only operating on the repeater output on the UHF repeater.
