Narrow band--is everyone effected?

I was reading some aviation page and saw a different freq.
156.690.
My radio Shack pro 197 won't do that freq,
and the Uniden's will take it.
Is there someone out there with these freq's or is the 6.25 narrowband for all user's?

The frequency listed on that web site is an error. It is probably supposed to be 156.900 (marine ch 18A) which is listed in Part 87 (aviation) as "For communications with ship stations under specific conditions."

The VHF marine band is 25 kHz channel spacing which is why your 197 won't accept it.

This has absolutely nothing to do with narrowbanding.
