Long overdue site going upin Newark. Most public safety will be switching over after this becomes active with Pataskala soon to get a site.

Question TG 27545

Heard unknown TG 27545 on Lake county's P25 system. Transmission was too brief to hazard a guess about this TG ... although unit ID was 4326xxx, which suggests a Kirtland Hills PD unit.

They do not have any towers or users in the Butler County area as yet.

Ohio MARCS-IP shows the current sites and users. This system will eventually replace the current MARCS system.

Default New TG 13512

Ran Discovery today on the Cuyahoga IP-25 off the Cuyahoga Simulcast and heard testing on TG 13512. Middleburgh Hts FD was testing with every city in Cuyahoga Co. including Cleveland EMS. I believe that they wanted to “showoff” the radios at a city council meeting tonight. Many references to XMTAC-3. I see in the Cuy. Common TG’s 13501 as XMTAC-1. Also at the end of the test they were contacting CMED to leave the channel open. I’ll wait for some feedback but I think we can tag this as Cuy. Co. Common XMTAC-3

I too heard the testing this morning .. seemed to have something to do with CECOMS, maybe the MABAS alerting going to MARCS P25 .... I agree they referred to the TG as XM TAC3. A number of the communities failed to respond to the test, so seems they have work to do.

Agree CECOMS related. I’m old school and in the old days CECOMS was CEMED. Also I forgot to mention at the end of the test Middleburgh thanked Orange for the patch.
Thought that was interesting. I’m going to go ahead and submit to the database.

I was in ID SCAN mode and don't have that TG programmed in. But I heard everything on the old MARCS on TG 18736 tagged as 18MTAC1. They must have been patched together.

After reviewing the 66 hits today again I did hear the Middleburgh person doing the testing asking if they were receiving on XMTAC-3 or just MTAC-? Was not able to hear the # on the MATC. At first I thought my audio was just getting cut off but some depts. were receiving and transmitting on the MARCS-? Could explain why you were hearing on the conventional MARC’S system. Did hear Middleburgh thanking Orange for the patch. Submit to the Cuy IP-25??

Correction to my post - the TG 18736 was 18MTAC3 (not 1) on old MARCS. There were also some hits on TG 18704 as 18MTAC1 at first but then switched to TG 18736 18MTAC3. Time: 0900 to 0903..

Default MARCS-IP Mobile site assisting with D Day reenactment

I'm not sure if this belongs here or on another thread but MARCS is bringing their MARCS-IP mobile site up to assist with communications for the annual D Day reenactment in Conneaut Ohio this Friday & Saturday. I believe that they're also distributing around 60 or so APX7000 radios as well for the event coordiators & support staff.

Heard a LPD guy say he was switching back to the Special Ops Ch so this is probable

14777 LPD SPECIAL OPS, although tfc & crowd control sound more like Special Events.

We have another very impressive band opening tonight from Ohio. I am able to hear the following two new sites:

  • Site 2-31: This site shows up as a neighbor to 2-14. Control channel is 773.53125.
  • The Swanton site appears to be online, as 2-48. Control channel is 773.88125.
73's

The DB says that X2 may be in use, but the notes section says X2 is not in use. Can anyone confirm?
