Is this because GRECOM has yet to do a new update or did I do something wrong? Also, if it is GRECOM that hasn't done a new update yet how long do you think till they do?
I live in Mentor and I can hear the Mentor PD ,but not the one I want to hear the most being the Mentor FD.
Can I enter MFD new channel # manually on this scanner?
Thanks, i will greatly appreciate the help

Brian,
I'm going by memory, but this is a two-stpe process. You need to update the library using GRESCAN. (This actually downloads the most recent database information from RadioReference). ANd then you need to update any trunked systems that you have programmed in with the new information. I can't help you any more than that because I don't use my PSR-800 and don't have the software installed right now.
The RRDB is probably going to get some Lake Co updates over the next few days as people are submitting new information. So you might hvae to update the library every day or two and then update your programmed trunked systems with the latest talkgroup data.
I don't remember if it's possible to add a talkgroup manually via the front face. I programmed it once and then forgot about it.

Lake County evening traffic
From 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm monitored testing traffic on Lake County system. Sounded like the techs were setting up a paging system for several FD's.
From 8:00 pm to 8:15 pm routine Lake County traffic started, multiple TG's.
8:17 pm, traffic stopped. At 8:18 pm Lake County Jail reported that the radio techs were running additional tests.
Sounds like they are working out issues as they encounter them.
One other note, hearing the Hillcrest Fire Dispatch on the Lake County System.

Folks,
Regarding Lake Co. Please post your findings of new talkgroups here. If others disagree with the agency that you indicate is the user of the talkgroup, you all can go back and forth a few times until it is determined with more certainty what the talkgroup is.
I bring this up because I have gotten multiple submissions today, from various different users. One user says one talkgroup is "Agency 1" while the next submission says that same talkgroup is "Agency 2".
Ex: I had a submission today for TG 27508 indicating that it was Lake MetroParks PD. I worked it and added the talkgroup. Now I've got another submission that says TG 27508 is Kirtland Hills PD.
So we need for the listeners of the Lake simulcast site of the MARCS-IP system to post what you believe the talkgroup is so that others can listen and verify.
Talkgroups in question right now:
27508 - Is it Kirtland Hills PD or Lake MetroParks PD?
27553 - Painesville FD (I'm leaning toward this one)
27533 - Painesville FD (I don't think this is correct
Thanks for your help. I'm sure you understand that with multiple people making submissions [which we do encourage] regarding a bunch of new activity on a new system, there is a much higher likelihood that different people will be submitting conflicting data from time to time. So I think its' best that findings be posted here and then you can wait a day or two to submit them to the DB, for the sake of making sure that we put the correct info in the DB the first time around.

It depends on how you program your 106.
If you use a software program like WIN500, you can download it to your scanner from the RR database.
If you manually enter on the keyboard you can find the necessary information in the RR database.
Here's the link:
Ohio MARCS-IP: Multi-Agency Radio Communications (P25) Trunking System, Various, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies
Or you can do the following. Click on Databases-Ohio-Lake County. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll see the Trunked Radio systems listed. Double click on Ohio MARCS IP.
This is a Project 25 trunk system so select P25 Auto, enter the CC (control channels), add the TG's (talk groups). If I were you I'd add the Wild Card TG's for Groups and Private.
You should be ready go.

If you haven't already, you'll have to create a new system with the settings found in the database for Ohio MARCS-IP, and use the Lake County frequencies. Program wild cards for talkgroups so you can catch as much as possible. I'd recommend sticking to talkgroup wildcards only at this point; being a new system there will be more than enough to figure out on talkgroups alone without adding Radio IDs to the mix.
Don't forget to turn logging on; if you use software such as Win500, turn on the logging feature so that it logs everything it hears.
Stay tuned to the database and this thread as users duke it out over what talkgroup is being used by which agencies.

Some Lake County Traffic patching to Cuyahoga
This morning I've been hearing some Lake County traffic popping up on the Cuyahoga 700 Mhz system.
TG27508 Metro Parks 18 calling another Metro Parks unit. The radio id started with 43, verifying the Lake County radio.
TG27679 Lake West Hospital conversing with Mentor on the Lake.
TG27550 traffic was garbled, but the radio id was Lake County 43.
I'm definitely not hearing all of the Lake County traffic on the Cuyahoga system. Just some TG's. I expect the Lake County radio techs will be doing some tweaking regarding the affiliation of radio's between the two systems.

I don't understand why the Columbus (Franklin County) system is included in the Radio Reference Lake County P25 Marcs database. Is there any point in entering this system in our scanners when we live in Lake or Cuyahoga Counties?

I do belong to RR and downloaded the files but still am not recieving. This can be a little confusing to say the least. I am an I.T. person and do well with computers and programing but I feel as though I am missing a small peice of something to make this work.
Like I said, I am a member of RR and did a import of the mARCs files for lake county but nothing. What could I not be doing or am doing wrong.
I would be greatful for any assistance to get this up and running and if it would be easier I could email my phone number if someone is willing to chat instead of type.
*frustrated*

Well my understanding is this system will replace the present MARCS system which has a whole bunch of counties. If you look at the Frankllin County page you will see the same things listed in the P25 system as you see on the Cuyahoga or Lake county pages since presumably those are the only three counties active now. I'm sure there are others here who know and can explain better.

some more Lake County logging
I was driving around this morning running my PRO2049 and logged the following TGID's.
27506 Appeared to be LCSO
27550 Kirtland Fire dispatching Rescue to Divine Word Church
27504 Mentor PD
27551 Mentor FD reported AIR1 @ Station, and as I passed Mentor Station 3 AIR1 was out front
27501 Willoughby PD (Unit 807 reporting)
27500 appears to be Wickliffe , not Willoughby as listed in the DB listening to several traffic stops
The following were too garbled to pick out the conversations
27503
27713
27554
Am now running a wildcard on my PSR800 and will see what comes up this afternnon

LC Talkgroups
Heres a couple minor confirmed notes:
I agree with Sportster77's talkgroup / agency descriptions for the talkgroups he listed.
TG27508 is a shared TG between Lake Metro Park Rangers and Kirtland Hills PD
TG27552 is a shared TG between Painesville Twp FD, Fairport Harbor FD, and Grand River FD
TG27553 is indeed Painesville City FD
TG27507 is a shared TG between Painesville City PD, Fariport Harbor PD, and Grand River PD

Just like the present MARCS, MARCS-IP is a networked system, and you can hear those talkgroups in NE Ohio if some radio is affiliated to them through the Lake or Cuyahoga sites. If you don't want those talkgroups in your scan lists, unselect that talkgroup category before importing to your radio.

Ok,,, I have figured some stuff out here,, thanks to everyones help. THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!
I have created a new system, downloaded the MARCS-IP,,, uploaded to my scanner and am now getting a good majority of the cities. Just need to kick back and see who all comes across.
Question,,, is it me or is the transmit worse with this new communication? Seems chppy at times. Is there something I can do to enhance the quality?
And I still say,,, the programming , and I use win500, can be confusing!

I was hearing a drill today for monitors for the nuclear power plant. I don't know which MARCS it was on though as I was driving and couldn't watch the screen, but the TGID was 6400.

Yes - I just reprogrammed my PSR-800 and am listening to the new channels. The quality is worse and choppy. Depends on the channel though. Some are better than others.
