Solon Fire Dept. Have they jumped over to the system? Any talkgroup ID info for Solon Fire?

I don't know why trunking tables would need to be added. All scanners capable of P25 trunking should be fetchhing the trunking tables right from the data stream, and I would think they aren't running any kind of nonstandard trunking tables.

I had to add them for my PSR-800 to work.

I saw upthread someone was having issue programming the system on their PSR-800, I could see the data blink, but hear no voice each time a unit or dispatch key'd up. Side-by-side with my 500, the 800 kept failing.
Tested several variations and found the only way I could get the 800 to work on the system was with the custom tables programmed.
Reminds me of that old line from Kelly's Heroes: I only ride them, I don't know what makes them work

Sounds like you set the (trunk) system up as P25 Manual. For the table to auto update the setting should be P25 AUTO.

Also the scanner (996) won't take 765.97125. Makes it 765.9700.
|
Ed,
My scanner GRE 500 also won't accept 765.97125. But when I did a search, my scanner found 765.96875 as an active CC for Cuyahoga P25. No it's not listed (being broadcast) in the data stream.
To answer your original question about 766.01875, it was discovered when the Cuyahoga P25 system first went active last year. Just like 765.96875 it was not reported (listed in the data stream) as a CC for the Cuyahoga P25 system by trunking software (in my case Pro96com). It won't be listed in the RR database as a CC.
I entered 765.96875 into my CC list and it works. Why is it a working CC but not being broadcast as such? Who knows?

P25 Manual and P25 Auto are selections for the PSR-500, which I had working fine.
It was the PSR-800 that had the issue, and there's no option of Auto/Manual.
Thanks though.

You can also add the new Greene County P25 simulcast to this list. They signed the paperwork with MARCS a while back. If all goes well, they should be online within the next 6-12 months.

Ah, I see that now. I probably fat-fingered my search for that TG.

I added as Willoughby Hills PD 1A. It might be Willoughby Hills - Waite Hill PD 1A. Or it may be something else. It's in with the block of 1A talkgroups, so I put it there and we'll see if it lasts without needing modified

Tg27658
Had the radio on for the last two hours, monitoring Cuyahoga 700Mhz P25. Almost non stop activity on TG27658.
Hearing calls to radio from 73, 78 and 80. Last group of calls referred to setting up in the express lanes (that would be i271). The radio id's showing on my scanner start with 43 (Lake County).
Can anyone id the PD that uses 70's and 80's for their patrol cars?
Just heard a call "car exiting 90 to Bishop road, is that Wickliffe's" Radio confirmed it was Wickliffe's, said they'd notify. The group on this TG is not Wickliffe.
So Willoughby or Willoughby Hills?

They usually have 3 digit car numbers. The SO has 2 digit. May not have anything to do with the actual radio call.

I heard the same two digit call signs going both ways. 73 to radio, followed by radio to 73. All of the calls were in the same two digit format.
On thing that was slightly odd was the call about the "car exiting 90 to Bishop road". I would expect local officers to know who's jurisdiction it is. The unit called to Radio to asked if it was Wickliffe's? Radio confirmed that it was. Local PD would know that.
To your point it could be the Lake County SO running a special detail on i271. So does the Lake County SO use 70's and 80's identifiers for radio calls?

I don't know. But I'm sure someone in Lake County will chime in with the answer. The last I remember in the 1960's when I worked on their radios they used L33 (or other number) - but they were on VHF low

I've driven up I-271 to I-90 west a lot and noticed a lot of enforcement cars in the median just before of the Bishop exit and I thought they were Wickliffe.

This is an older list but I beleive most applies.
Willoughby Hills Police normally will not use the first number (7) of their unit number when they call.
Willoughby Hills Police also use the ID of (MC) when calling. These are MotorCycles.
Hope this helps

In the coming months we will start discovering more activity with the MARCS-IP P-25 system throughout Ohio as a whole.
I have merged the MARCS-IP Southwest/Central Ohio thread with the main thread. This thread will now cover the entirety
of the state and not exclusively NE Ohio.
