Default Westcom

Per the RR database:

Westcom dispatches for Bay Village, Fairview Park, Rocky River, & Westlake.

I spent 4 hours in Berea today and Westcom was using both systems during that period. Most of the transmissions on the P-25 were radio checks.

Anything heard re: North Olmsted FD on this TG?

I beleive they are toned out on the Westshore system. (UHF 453.300 PL 192.8 alerts)

Also North Ridgeville FD (423.40 PL 156.7) in Lorain County is toned out on the same Westshore system alerts as above.

I travel daily to both areas and will keep an ear out but any info on these would help.

Is there a listing of the apparatus numbering for the communities dispatched by Westshore / Westcom ?

Also .. is the name Westshore & Westcom simply interchangeable ?
I can only find documentation calling it Westshore Communication Center ....

I believe the RR Database has what you are looking for.

Here's the link for Cuyahoga - Westshore:

Westshore Region Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Here's the link for the Wiki with department info:

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index...ga_County_(OH))

If the above Wiki link doesn't work, then use the Westshore link and click on the Wiki (tab).

I believe that Westshore is a region of communities. Westcom is a dispatch center for fire/EMS for 5, but not all, in Westshore.

Westlake, North Ridgeville, Fairview Park, Rocky River, and Bay Village. But not Lakewood and North Olmsted. This info is several years old so it may be different now.

It is very convoluted over there. Berea Fire is part of the SWRCN trunk system while Berea Pd is still on their own high VHF system.

Thanks for the info ... Re: Westshore FD apparatus numbers ... from the Wiki, it only lists PD numbering system ... so I'm guessing FD sort of follows that same system .. from listening I know Rocky River FD numbers are 6x and Bay Village FD 1x .. would be nice if there was a complete listing of apparatus somewhere.

Default Westshore or Westcom FD unit #'s

I think that Westlake uses 7x.

Not sure.

If anybody can help lets update the wiki site for the Westcom (Westshore). Or if you have info please post here.

North Olmsted is remaining in 154.250--they are not toned-out over the air
North Ridgeville is remaining on 423.400 for ops
I believe all Westcom departments (Bay,Fairview,River,Westlake, and Ridgeville) will still be toned-out on 453.300

Rocky River police and fire all start with a 6 Westlake police and fire all start with a 7 Bay Village police and fire all start with a 1 Fairview Park police and fire start with a 3 and North Olmsted police and fire all start with a 5. I just found WestCom on 453.300 also. I have been told that the police at least in Fairview Park will be changing frequencies around the first of the year. I could use serious help in programing the new systems, I have a trunking scanner but the concept of the programming blows my mind. I have been using scanners since the mid 70's but they were all just entering a frequency.

So why do all these agencies join MARCS, then still maintain their old system for tone outs ?
I'm guessing old system still requires maintenance and costs ..... ???

I think the digital systems don't like the tones. Listen to Valley Fire on the Summit Co. system.

I will keep an eye out for those. I am hoping someone can confirm 27652. I think it is Willoughby PD 1a. I jotted down radio id's 4335050 & 4335100.

They were talking about loading horses and re-opening Euclid Ave. I am pretty sure there was some sort of holiday event in downtown wby tonight.

Audio tones (Motorola QuikCall, Plectron or DTMF) are not clean enough when sent over a digital channel to activate the pager decoders. The old analog system has to be retained for that.

No hits here on this tg but...

Willoughby hits heard re: Radio id's are from 4335048 thru 4335097 on tg

27501 so this may be a willoughby channel..

Advise if you hear comms on any of the radio id's above...

Default Tg 27570

Heard UID 4339012 on both this and Eastlake dispatch TG 27503, so 27570 is probably Eastlake PD 1A.
