Default Unit ID Format?

Apologies if this is documented elsewhere, but are 7-digit unit IDs formatted as follows?

1234567

12 = County
34 = City
567 = Radio Number

??

And what's the story on 4-digit unit IDs? Central dispatch?

Default TG numbering radio ID's

yes the first two numbers are for the county.

re: 18 is cuyahoga county

re: 43 is lake county

These numbers follow the State County numbering.

the next 5 (five) numbers are unknown logic.

Looking at known radio ID's I see no pattern after the first two (2) numbers re: city, police, fire or etc..

Radio ID numbers for the Lake County side of the system re: 2xxx are the base dispatch radios for the Lake County System.

You will see more than one agency using the 2xxx radio ID's as Lake County Dispatch (County) dispatches for several agencies using the same radio ID re: FD and PD (same base radio)....

The City of Mentor also uses 2xxx radio ID's for their base for FD and PD.

Default Radio ID Format

DISCLAIMER: This is speculation ... I could be wrong!

After paying attention to this on Sunday, I see a pattern for digits 3 and 4 of LAKE COUNTY POLICE AND FIRE 7-digit radio IDs. So far, these seem to be consistent:

43XXNNN

For XX:

02 = LAKE CO SHERIFF
15 = LAKE CO JAIL
26 = KIRTLAND HILLS
31 = PAINESVILLE
32 = MENTOR
33 = MENTOR ON THE LAKE
34 = KIRTLAND
35 = WILLOUGHBY
36 = WILLOWICK
37 = WICKLIFFE
38 = WILLOUGHBY HILLS
39 = EASTLAKE
41 = MADISON
85 = MADISON OR PERRY
86 = MADISON OR PERRY

Maybe 41 and 85/86 distinguishes between Madison City and Madison TWP?

Don't know if any pattern exists for public works, Laketran, schools, etc.

Keep listening, you'll probably hear other surprises.

Earlier this year when Westcom did it's first round of testing they mentioned that North Olmstead and North Ridgeville would be getting radio's. North Ridgeville has a mutual aid with North Olmstead. North Olmstead has a mutual aid with Westlake.

Default Radio ID's re: Lake County

LZ56

I think your right on the radio ID's for Lake County. I have just about the same info as you.

Cuyahoga County is still unknown. I'm going to watch the utilites and schools to see what pattern they follow for Lake County.

Thanks for the info.

Cuyahoga County is another ?...re: Radio ID's.

Cuyahoga radio IDs don't seem to be following the same numbering scheme as Lake County ..
so far all my identified IDs for Cuyahoga are 18 then 90 or 91 as the 4th / 5th digit .

I'm guessing they are on the MARCS fulltime. Only departments that are dispatched by the WESTCOM dispatch center(Bay,Fairview,River,Westlake,and North Ridgeville) are toned-out on 453.300. The NOFD is dispatched by their PD and is not toned-out over the air.

Default Cuyahoga IP-25 with HP-1

Question, on my HP-1 with no extreme update it looks like I’m only able hear the confirmed TG’s that are in the RR data base. Is there a way to search for unconfirmed TG’s in the both the new Cuyahoga IP-25 and the new Cleveland systems without the upgrade?

I did hear Tg 27626 tonight. Radio ID's were 05 and they were doing a PD operation in Mentor near Rt 306 and Rt 2. More than just Mentor units were involved. Everyone going by names, not unit numbers. All traffic I heard was in the clear which surprised me.

The old lake county system had a narcotics talk group. I am wondering could this be their TG?

I heard that incident too. Very interesting. Definitely some sort of drug or stolen property stakeout, probably with unmarked cars. I bet it's a narcotics task force. Would Lake County Sheriff be primarily responsible for running it?

If your version of Sentinel allows you to turn on ID SEARCH for a system in a favorite list, turn it on then download to HP and see what happens. It may not work without extreme upgrade, but can't hurt to try.
