Ted,

I've added the site to the DB as an unknown site for now, although it's obvious it's over in WSW Ohio somewhere. Thanks for letting everyone know of it's existence.

Unfortunately, there are only a handful of issued licenses thus far. All of the other sites are operating under a blank 700 Mhz license that MARCS has. So in many cases we just have to guess while things are in their infancy.

Mike,

FYI, I did a little mobile recon this morning and can confirm the Wilberforce site (at least the primary CC).

Will be fun to watch as this system is expanded and more entities move to it.

Thanks,

Ted

Hearing traffic off the Columbus site, TG 17002, sounds like Washington Courthouse PD. I hear their streets and addresses (confirmed). Dispatcher is IDing as "PD". Multiple references to "call county and confirm the warrant" and "check with county". I thought it might be another Fayette County TG but it sounds like PD. Not receiving Fayette County at the same time either. Anyone know if WCHPD was switching to this system too.

Default Simulcast

My dept currently simulcasts our traffic from this system for the benefit of surrounding depts, not on the system to monitor. I see this occasional it's a violation of MARCS to simulcast, but in checking our user agreement, absolutely nothing addresses this. Where are you guys getting this information?

Default PSR-800 F/W Upgrade, System sounds worse

Any other PSR-800 owners with the new F/W upgrade think the Cuyahoga 700 systems sound worse? I did the upgrade and think I might go back to 1.7 unless some tweaks help.

Hi Mike; I was running it as Beta and it was fine and after it was released I updated it again. Did you update the SW and DSP also? Bill

Yep went backed and double checked, I will give it week or so maybe the conditions are playing hell with it. But sure sounded better prior to the update.

Default Ohio MARCS - IP (Project 25 System)

I caught traffic on TG 27714 tonight. I did not have enough time to catch the radio ID but it was a 43 ID. I don't have any idea what agency it was but the unit was pretty much signing off for the night and there was discussion about road conditions around RT 322 (which really confused me). Has anyone else heard this TG?

Yes I have one hit on this TG (27714) from a while back but no radio ID with it.

If you had more of the radio id maybe it could be identified.

Take a look at the Lake County Wiki page as it has the radio id's listed (first four numbers) for the Lake Co. units. This is near the bottom of the wiki page.

tg 27714

heard tonight

I beleive to be Mentor City Schools.

I missed the radio Id. but comms seemed to be for the Mentor Schools.

More than likely used for school buses on road trips such as sports away games outside of city transporting the players.

Looks like a few grants came through for more of the counties (Vinton, Stark, Carroll, Morrow).

Default TG27513 Fire drills

For the last half hour I've been hearing Fire Drills on TG27513 from the Cuyahoga P25. TG27513 is listed as Lake County Tac 4 (Common Talkgroups).

The Command radio ID starts with 28 while other responding units radio ID's start with 43. A joint Geauga and Lake County drill?

The unit IDs dont seem to match with any documented depts
.. And the rig identifications are all E-1, E-2, etc ..
No 4 digit rig numbering. Can't tell who it is.

I heard that drill today as well as yesterday. It’s hard to pinpoint the departments because they always use Main street as a location and generic unit numbers. Engine 1-5
Ladder 1-4….. It sounds like there running these drills off a computer program. At point I hear the BC tell everyone to standby the program had to reload.

Concord Twp Fire is hosting a Blue Card simulation lab today:

Blue Card Command Training & B Shifter Overview

The generic streets & apparatus ID's are part of the simulations.

Default TG27513 Fire Drill

Command just announce a 4th alarm, Box 2722. Radio ID 4332584 asked command to repeat the Box #.

Anyone recognize Box 2722 or Radio ID 4332584?

If were lucky when the drill ends the commander might thank the participating department by name.
