Thank you very much. I've added the voice channels to the Shalersville site in the DB.

Savvy MARCS/IP Listeners -- A Call to Action
Folks,
If:
- You live in Ohio (or near Ohio where you may be able to monitor a MARCS/IP site)
- You have a digital scanner capable of scanning 768-775 Mhz
- The scanner has a discriminator tap or PC/IF output
- You are familiar with interfacing your scanner to the computer
- You have working knowledge of using Pro96Com or Unitrunker to monitor trunked systems
Then:
Please consider scanning 768-775 Mhz in area your area to see if you are able to reliably pick up any P25 control channels showing a system ID of 348 (which is the Ohio MARCS/IP P25 trunked system).
There are many sites listed in the RRDB for which we have minimal information. If you live in the area of one of the sites listed with only a red control channel, please attempt to monitor that site with Pro96Com or Unitrunker. We are in need of information such as:
- primary control channel
- alternate control channel
- any additional voice frequencies
- site peers (neighbors)
MARCS/IP RRDB Page: Ohio MARCS-IP: Multi-Agency Radio Communications (P25) Trunking System, Various, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies
Counties needing further investigation:
Knox Co: Centerburg area
Jackson Co: Jackson area
Columbiana Co: Alliance area
Erie Co: Berlin Heights area
Richland Co: Butler area
Marion Co: Marion area
Seneca Co: Attica area and Tiffin area
Trumbull Co: Warren (Trumbull CI) area
Stark Co: Canton, Massillon and East Sparta areas
Morrow Co: Clear Fork Reservoir / Steam Corners Rd area
Vinton Co: Wellston area
Wood Co: Bradner area
Sandusky Co: Fremont area
Sandusky Co: Oak Harbor area (NNW of Oak Harbor)
Erie Co: Castalia area
Some of the above sites already are listed in the DB confirmed as being online. Some sites are not confirmed online yet. And, there are actually many more sites with pending licenses as well, so it would not hurt to scan 770 mhz band if you are in one of those areas as well. I think the RR Wiki lists all of the sites (confirmed active / not confirmed active / licensed / pending license).
NOTE: Do not necessarily go by the frequencies you see in the wiki . The frequencies in the wiki are licensed [or pending] site frequencies. But a site may very well be online but using another 700 mhz freq. So, the idea is to scan 768-775 Mhz.
If you monitor a particular site already listed in the database and you have no "new" information, please do not submit. Only submit data if you have new information / additional information for a particular site.
NOTE: Please do not submit information based upon FCC records. They key here is to obtain accurate information from sites that are online, by monitoring the control channel of those sites. We already are aware of any granted / pending FCC licenses for MARCS/IP sites in Ohio.
The submission page for the MARCS/IP system is at: Submit Data to RadioReference
Thanks,
Mike

So I have a quick question...
The 700mhz MARCS system is online in Shalersville. Will the next step be for the MARCS users in Portage County, such as the sheriff and OSP, to re-program their radios to affiliate with the new 700 IP system?
And will the old T/G's remain the same on the new system?

The new P25 site listed as 'Akron' is that really in Akron or is it the Richfield tower ?

It's Akron. The location is 4370 BLACKSTONE, Akron OH. Which is East of Rt 8, just south of E. Tallmadge avenue and south west of Midway Plaza. The tower was constructed in 2005.
The Richfield tower is located next to the Turnpike near the intersection of Black and Boston Mills roads. Which is north of i271 and east of i77. This tower was constructed in 1954. The Richfield tower is one of the Cuyahoga County MARCS-IP towers (Licensed WQNB583).

Depends on the status of the buildout in that area, and whether their radios are P25 ready. State agencies would be among the last to migrate due to their need for true statewide coverage.

No. Completely different.

Heard Clark County SO TG 10519 on the Canton Site today. As I understand MARCS, that would mean one of their units, though it would not have to be the one I heard, has traveled to Stark County and associated with this tower, correct?

That is correct. Early this morning I heard a Clark SO unit state he was headed to Canton to pick up a prisoner. That would explain why you are hearing them today.

I have monitored TG 49500 on the Canton site several times today and yesterday. I have yet to hear a full conversation so I cannot even begin to guess who it is. I do not see this in the list of talkgroups in the database so it may be local.

TG 27525
Willoughby PD (unit ID 4335082) briefly heard on unknown Lake County TG 27525. What I heard gave no clue about the TG's purpose.

Elyria
Both East and West Comm were on the Elyria tower this morning. First traffic I have heard on it since it showed up in RR.

TG 14044
I’m hearing some traffic on TG 14044 today. I’m fairly sure by the addresses I heard that it is a Solon PD channel. Not sure how I would tag it at this time.

Westcomm
Westlake, Rocky River, Fairview and North Olmsted fire and EMS have been using the new system heavily over the past couple days. All off of the Elyria tower.
Wonder when North Ridgeville will turn up as they are part of Westcomm.
