Default 14481

OK I have a question to who ever changed TG 14481 from Lakewood PD TAC to FBI ? How did you get to that conclusion? I know for a fact that it is Lakewood. The Task force is still using the VHF channel. Thanks, Bill

Yes I wondered about that.

Originally I had doubts it being Lakewood because there seemed to be an awful lot of units participating in the activity. I did hear activity in the Lakewood neighborhoods but also in many other places. I looked in my logs to see if activity occurred at the same times on different bands but no evidence one way or another on that.

Is there a way to see who submitted the FBI data? I know when I've submitted stuff I chose anonymous.

I won't tell you who submitted this [and perhaps I don't even know who submitted it], but I'll show you what was submitted:

Re: 14481 3891 D Lkwd PD Tac Lakewood PD tactical/car-to-car

After monitoring this talkgroup for more than month we have come to the conclusion that this is not a Lakewood PD tactical/car-to-car. It is a joint Cuyahoga County/FBI tactical/car-to-car talkgroup.

Also of note is that their former freq. (172.325 mHz) is now silent and has been so for the last month.
Seems like we have contradicting information. One party says it's Lakewood PD TAC. Another poster says they are skeptical of it being Lakewood PD TAC. And now a submitter says it is not Lakewood PD TAC but rather the same users who were on 172.325 -- and that in addition, 172.325 has been silent for a month.

So, who's right and who's wrong? Battle it out guys, and come up with a definitive answer. This is exactly why some of us admins conduct an interrogation with a submitter before agreeing to add/modify something. Granted, I'm the one who worked this submission and I didn't question it.

Ok I've changed it back.

If ya'll don't think TG 14481 is Lakewood, then somebody needs to decide what it is.

I suppose it could be Lakewood since it's larger suburb. I'd be more inclined to think it was FBI but I'll pay more attention. I've locked it out at times cuz it was so busy!

FBI uses certain syntax and terminology in their transmissions so it should be easy enough to ID when I next hear them on 14481.

I'm pretty much convinced its NOT FBI by certain syntax and terminology in their transmissions. Can't confirm who it really is though.

Default Lakewood PD Radio Tests

This afternoon I've been monitoring basic radio tests by Lakewood PD on TG14484 with Radio ID's 1891XXX.

...and while the guy was testing that he also showed up on 14481 which pretty much confirms it's Lakewood.

Other new TGIDs showing up including Geauga Co.

OK thanks. Well, I changed it back to Lakewood as soon as somebody raised a fuss. Where the other guy got his information I do not know. He hasn't responded to anything I said to him in a ticket, interestingly, nor has he responded here.

Default Geauga P-25 System

I have been hearing numerous transmissions the past several days on the new Geauga P-25 System. The hits have been on:

19556
19633
19553
19543
19547

All have been testing between radio users on how to use the features of the radio. The only clear user I have been able to identify is 19547 which appears to be Geauga Transit - Unit 1.

I will continue to listen to see if I can get more user information.

John

While traveling Easter Sunday was in SW Stark County and was listening to Solon Fire and Geauga County clear as could be but come home to Twinsburg a 10 minute drive from these places and all I hear is garbled transmissions not liking this new MARCS system. Got strong signals from the Stark Co tower sites.

You were hearing Solon Fire and Geauga County because you were far enough away that the simulcast distortion wasn't an issue, or you were monitoring a multicast site at which simulcast distortion isn't an issue. Once you got closer to home and monitoring the simulcast site it became an issue again.

I've added your recent confirmations.

In future, please make sure to submit them through the 'Submit' tab on the system page; that aids us in keeping track of submissions.

Default TG13501

Last week I monitored Lakewood FD doing a radio check on TG13501. CECOMS dispatch responded to the radio check.

In the past I've heard traffic referring to TG13501 as the County TAC channel.

I'd like to submit it. But should it be listed as a County TAC or as CECOMS?

Anyone have any additional info regarding TG13501?
