Default RE: TG 51528

Guys and Gals,

51528 was originally listed in the DB as Post 67. I then received a submission from a reliable source indicating that it was actually Post 28. I now have received another submission from another reliable source indicating that it is not Post 28 but rather Post 67 as originally mentioned.

For all of you who are monitoring TG 51528, I'd appreciate it if you would chime in with your thoughts regarding whether this is actually Post 28 or Post 67.

Do keep in mind that in various parts of the state there is consolidated dispatching, and that from time to time a talkgroup from one post might be patched to another... thus sometimes making it difficult to actually pinpoint which post's talkgroup it is. I don't know if that's happening up there. But I'd ask that the "collective" listen and give opinions as to whether it's Post 28 or Post 67.

Thanks

Mike

I have seen 51528 used on the Columbus, Fayette, and London sites, all were OSP units.

Ok, thanks. Tom has already changed it to reflect a generic patch, so we're good to go.

Default TG 51528

Apparently it's no longer affiliating with the Lake County system, which is where I used to hear it. (I don't listen to any other MARCS IP sites, only Lake County). When it did affiliate with Lake County sites, I would hear traffic from both Chardon and Ravenna posts.

Can anyone else confirm that it is indeed no longer affiliating with the Lake County sites? If it is STILL being heard on the Lake County system, then I must have changed something in my HP-1 by mistake (although this TG looks like it's still defined correctly in my fave list).

LZ56 -

I'm reasonably sure you didn't screw up the HP1, I listened to the Lake County site all day and didn't hear one peep from 51528/OSPRavChar.

I also didn't notice any affiliation with the CuyCo site either. Perhaps the lightning struck tower (or whatever the issue was) is fixed?

It will only "affiliate" if a unit in the area of your site is using it. It is a special OSP patch used by troopers who use the old MARCS system to talk to someone using the new MARCSIP system. You will not hear regular dispatch traffic on it. Talk groups do not affiliate, radios do.

Default MARCS-IP Question

Does anybody know why we would be getting Middlefield FD TG 19523 from the Geauga Co site on the Canton/Stark Co site using CC 773.05625 on the new MARCS-IP system? I've been hearing them now for awhile and is the only Geauga Co TG that I'm hearing on the Canton/Stark Co site.

Seems odd,
Thanks in advance.

Default MARCS-IP Lima Site

I have a new site to report here in Lima in Allen County. All info is from UniTrunker

Site is 002-028 and is a 3 channel site. Callsign is WPTZ770

CC is 774.78120
AC is 774.45625
V is 769.53125

Peers:
001-008 (Urbana) on 774.80625
001-026 (Marysville) on 774.58125
001-028 on 773.03125
002-012 (Marion) on 773.95625
002-031 on 773.53125
002-035 on 772.50625

I can't hear 001-028, 002-031, or 002-035 so I can't supply any information from those sites.

I'm submitting this information for the DB

Well OK, maybe "affiliate" is not the right word. I'm not clear on how it all works technically regarding affiliation or whatever. All I know is that when I used to hear TG 51528 off the Lake county sites, I would hear Chardon and Ravenna units, and sometimes I would hear the Chardon and Ravenna posts (dispatch) too. I can understand hearing Chardon post traffic on the Lake county system since Chardon is nearby, but Ravenna post traffic on the Lake county sites is surprising to me. Anyway, thanks for the info.

LZ: there is a rollover on i90 eb. Multiple fire crews are staging on TAC8 but most importantly to this conversation is that the OSP patch (51528) is still live in the lake county system as OSHP is on scene.

OSP is at a traffic accident on I-90 at the 207 in Leroy tonight. I am hearing that traffic off of the Lake County site.

Ravenna Post routinely dispatches for OSP Chardon, so it's common to hear Chardon and Ravenna units on the same talkgroup.

I wasn't listening at that time but I did hear Ravenna post traffic later in the night, so obviously this OSP patch still occasionally "affiliates" (or whatever you call it) with Lake county's system. Thanks to all who posted info on this TG. I won't comment any further on this matter.

Default West Jefferson PD

Does anyone know if the West Jefferson PD is using this system as well? I know they changed systems but cannot find any info on it, and the info on the page for Madison county is wrong, as they do not use that channel anymore, and I apologize early if someone has already answered this question in the thread I did a search and didn't come up with anything...thank you.

No. Back in January 2012 West Jefferson PD went to MOTOTRBO which cannot be received on any scanner. Also see DSD.

Heard TG 49500 this afternoon around 7pm saying on scene heavy front end damage. Possible fire or police ? This was on on the P25 system.
