Thanks, Ed. I guess I'll remove the duplicate painsville one and leave only FD EAST for 27561

Take care,

I found a new tower site this evening. Currently, the 700/800 MHz band is wide open towards the south. I am copying several MARCS towers on the 700 MHz band right now.

Keep it on topic.

If you're from Michigan, stick with topics relating to Michigan, not Ohio.

Site 2-16 is Fremont, which is already in the database. So the database now needs fixed because 2-16 is in there twice.

While I was sitting on the Wauseon tower (2-47), here are some radios that affiliated with this site. No radio transmissions were noticed, but the band faded a few minutes later on, and I lost the signal. Hopefully, things will improve shortly.

Default "X" marks the spot

Ok, I think I've searched long enough and cannot find an answer so I'll post...

Can someone explain to me why there are "X"'s in front of some of the common TG's, such as "XNWS-CLEV"? Am I to assume that is a known cross-patch to the old MARCS system or does it signify this is the X2 portion of the system kicking in on these talkgroups?

If this is a known cross-patch, why doesn't the OSP District 4 "OSP-Patch" have an "X" in it's title?

The OSP patch actually does have an X designator for a specific post. However, the traffic on that talkgroup has been heard all around the state by different posts, and so it was decided to rename it for the time being even though it is known to be an Xblah talkgroup for a specific post.

No, X does not indicate X2 nor does it indicate a patch. It indicates that it is the MARCS/IP equivalent of the MARCS system -- regardless of whether it has any traffic on it now.

For instance -- agency A may still be using MARCS, but it may already be known what agency A's talkgroup will be once they are migrated to MARCS/IP. That's where I think the X comes in.

Tom will most definitely correct me if I'm wrong about that

Pretty much correct. Simply a way for MARCS users to differentiate between talkgroups on the new system and the old system.

Thanks Mike and Tom. I was going to plug some new TG's into my radio last night and stopped (ooh, shiny light!) when I saw that. Now I can continue on lol.

Default Greene Co P25 LSM Trunked Application

Below is a link to a Greene Co license application filed for at least a 6-site 800 Mhz P25 Simulcast system.

ULS Application - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Trunked - 0005939254 - GREENE, COUNTY OF

Parts of MARCS-IP (like Geauga, Cuyahoga etc), or standalone? I'll let you all decide. Given that there is already a MARCS-IP site active in Wilberforce, who knows. I bet some of you know the details. I'm just passing on the license app.
