Specifically, 860-861 is known as the "expansion band" and still used by public safety. 861-862 is the "guard band" and Sprint/Nextel starts at 862 MHz.

I submitted the info but the Newark Site is active now with cc of 770.53125 and site I'd 0348h-0165.

Thank you. I suspect that's actually the Granville site. There will be 4-5 sites in Licking Co (Newark, Granville, St Louisville, Alexandria and maybe someplace else I can't remember)

770.53125 is licensed to the Granville site. So I added 1-065 as Granville. It could be the actual Newark site, and if I'm wrong I'll correct it. But I'm thinking it's actually the Granville site on 770.53125.

Mystery sites from the new site's neighbors:

001-032 773.58125
001-066 774.53125 - This sounds like it's also in Licking County. Neither the primary nor the alternate control is on any of the licenses, though, so I'm not sure which one it is.
001-096 774.73125
003-014 771.95625
003-021 770.90625

Why is the Columbus site now called MARCS Columbus and none of the other sites are prefaced with MARCS?

And if this is how it is to be, why is it not more accurately called MARCS-IP Columbus?
Because there will soon be two more simulcast cells in Franklin County and the name change will help to keep them distinct from one another. The MARCS-IP site isn't a simulcast yet, but it should be before long.

In common parlance both systems are called MARCS, and once the old system is gone it won't really matter.

Monitoring the Columbus site with Pro96Com I'm seeing 066 and 096 as new neighbor sites besides 065 as well.

Doing an FCC search, 774.73125 (Site 96) comes up licensed to the new Pataskala site. I can hear it from home but with the antenna I'm using not quite well enough to decode.

771.95625 (Site 003-014) shows licensed to Dresden in Muskingum County.

RFSS 003 would be the new Zone 3 controller in Jefferson County, so it's possible they have started moving some sites around as well as adding new ones out that way.

I'll monitor the Dresden site for awhile. I can't hear any of the Licking Sites good enough. New PC and have not got Unirtunker on it. If I get anything I'll dig out the old PC.

OK Boss, I will defer to your experience in that area.

Oh and I had a mental blue screen over the fact that you answered me in my own post. That took a minute to sink in heh.

Has anyone else noticed that the Portage County Sheriff Talkgroup 40519 has been encrypted the past two days?

Default TG 54778 -- unknown

Second time I heard traffic on TG 54778 -- heard off of Dellroy tower. But I have only heard it in the evenings.

It's law enforcement. unit 16/13 - one requesting 15s on someone.

Radio IDs: 16900xx -- suggesting a Coshocton Co law enforcement agency

I think they give a clue as to who they are when they call each other, but I can't make out the specific word that might indicate what agency they are.

Doesn't seem to be surveillance or anything -- more like just a PD or SO.

Mike

I believe all the village police departments (if there's more than one) in Coshocton County are dispatched through the SO. The city of Coshocton doesn't have a police department.

45488 showing up today on Canton Site. This is the former Stark & Summit County interests of Smith Ambulance sold last year to American EMS. It is being operated as Stark/Summit Ambulance. It includes units in Massillon, Canton, Alliance, Minerva and Akron area.

I'll add it later to the DB after a little more listening. I'm hearing it off of Dellroy tower. But the unit IDs so far that I saw were 70xxxxxx IDs, which would have suggested to me something in Richland Co.

I have heard Medic 18, Medic 24, Medic 52, and Medic 1012 today. I recognize 24 as a Stark/Summit unit and 1012 is a Bartley unit. Also they have mentioned Affinity and Aultman Woodlawn as destinations.

Ok, cool. Well, it's in the DB now, under the Medical Transportation talkgroups. Since it covers multiple counties, I can't list it in just one county or in duplicate counties.

They are quite chatty. If it weren't for the fact that its the ONLY thing I hear on Dellroy except for the occasional NCANTONFD and Coshocton Co Sheriff, I'd lock em out.

How is it that you hear North Canton FD off the Dellroy tower? I cannot imagine any of thier units being down that way to affiliate with that site. Is all traffic repeated on neighboring sites?

No, all traffic is not repeated. Some NCANTON unit is close enough in the area to be using the Dellroy tower, at times. I don't hear them all the time. Perhaps two or three times every two days.

Dellroy is actually a high profile site. Great location. It doesn't surprise me to hear traffic coming from an agency in the adjacent county. But perhaps a North Canton FD user lives down in the southern end of Stark Co or something nad takes his radio with him/her. if they do that and it likes to attach itself to the Dellroy tower, then I'd hear all N Canton traffic for the duration.

Question Re: TG 45488

Here in NE Summit county getting lots of hit off a Geauga county site on TG 45488.

Also getting un-IDed TG 13654 off Beachwood. Not sure what it is.

~~

I see I reported 13654 before as possibly Rocky River. Definately in that area.
