What is actually happening in that part of Summit County? The Bath trunked system, WNRM987, dropped their three lower channels and picked up three channels apparently as part of rebanding. The Radio Reference listing shows two separate Bath systems, one being P25. The license only shows analog emissions. The police and fire have talk groups on the Bath system and the County Regional System. The police cruisers have multiple 800 MHz antennas.

Bath/Fairlawn/Copley/Norton will be switching to the new P25 system (that was created from the old Bath frequencies) very soon .. possibly this month. Those communities had concerns over coverage under the Akron/Summit 800 network. The P25 system is actually maintained by Akron/Summit and will be incorporated in to an FUTURE upgraded Akron/Summit P25 system (not imminent). The new Bath et al P25 system is NOT part of the Summit simulcast system, so unless you are near these communities, you will not be able to hear them. The new P25 system will have interoperability with Akron/Summit by use of MAC channels.
