Monitoring identifiable traffic on 56539. It appears to be Cuyahoga County Justice Center Security - Alarm Alert notification. This is an auytomated system where once activated, the deputies and proptective services would be made aware of an emergency/need assistance at that specific location. This is the traffic that used to be on the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Old channel #2.

Receiving "busy signal" on 56545. NO voice, just a telephone "busy signal". No idea what that would inidicate. This talkgroup is within the range of those assigned to the Cuyahoga County SO.

A few days ago I added the CCSO to my scan list. To date nothing heard.
Can someone tell me if ALL the channels for the CCSO are encrypted, or some in the clear.
Thank you.

Cuy Co SO
That which is shown as encrypted is listed. The others have not been. Still looking for the Cuyahoga County Jail talk group if it exists.

Busy signal is the default for the Grecom PSR-800 when it scans an encrypted talk group or conventional frequency.

Did you hear 27500 on the Cleveland System or the Cuyahoga P25 system?
I think that I have picked up 27500 on the Cuyahoga system but of course in Parma Heights it is garbled.
Lake County 27500 is listed as Willowick/Wickliffe PD. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the Lake County channels can be received on the Cuyahoga system. I have not picked up 27500 on the Cleveland system.

Here is a supporting document from a recent license request that was sent to the FCC.

For one, it would bring the system frequency total to 20.
And, I'm with Tom -- that supporting document does sound like the City of Cleveland wants to get the system prepared to take on other entities besides Cleveland entities. Hmm, let's see. Who wants to wager which is likely to take on more Cuyahoga Co agencies? MARCS-IP or City of Cleveland? My bet is MARCS-IP

maybe Im not crazy...
I logged PD Willoughby Hills on 56255 (cleve system). I don't know why. not on there own TG....
now you heard PD Wickliffe on this system.
Since both of these TG's are near the cuyahoga towers maybe this is why the cleveland system is picking them up??????
Just for some information Units located in Lake County will normally show up on the 800 freqs. but communities near the county border will show up on the 800 freqs. and the 700 freqs....(cuy and geauga).. Im sure this would be because of the prox to the towers....
In saying this maybe the new lake (cuy/geauga) marcs 25 and the new cleveland 25 system can share.

? Cleveland Parks TG's
TG’S 56244, 56245,56246,56247,56248,56250,56251,56252,56255 and 56256.
I have identified for my use as Cleveland Parks…
Radio Id’s numbers are from 1823101-1823484
I did hear a transmission re telling a driver to use the Parks Southwest Channel?
The above TG’s may be assigned by city area. I believe used for Parks and Cemeteries and I would think one of the above TG’s would be an operation channel.
These units could be used also around city buildings for snow removal and or maintenance.
Just guessing here..
Any help on these?

Mike,
For those of us in Cuyahoga County, that's old news. Cleveland, Parma and MARCS have been actively trying to recruit communities for the past two years (2011 - 2012).
Early last summer I bumped into our local mayor while walking my sisters dog. I asked him about the decision to stay with VHF analog radio's. He said it was simple, the analog radio's were cheaper to buy, operate and maintain. Plus he was fed up with all of the meetings he was attending regarding the competing big radio systems. He said he'd been to over 12 (radio) meetings in the last four months. He wasn't going to any more.
Later that month, the SWRCN group announced it would be merging with the Cleveland P25 system once it was deployed.
Regarding your bet, good luck. The general consensus (in this area) is that going to MARCS is just too expensive. First the high cost of the radio's, then the continuing monthly fees per radio. The monthly fees alone are more than the cost of buying all new (analog) radio's each year. That's a hard sell to people who don't want their taxes raised.
One last comment. I have a bet. It's regarding why the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs department went with Cleveland instead of MARCS. I think it's the monthly fees.

I can't comment on your entire list, but I can regarding the following:
TG56240, TG56241, TG56245, TG56251 the traffic I've heard on these TG's were Sanitation/Trash Collection related. Broken down trucks, blocked streets, no access to dumpsters, etc.. Secondary traffic that was moved off of the dispatch TG's.
Corrections to my original post from 2:00 PM for TG56245 and TG56251. In the last 10 minutes (3:30 - 3:40), I've copied both TG's with Radio ID's starting with 1823XXX Cleveland Parks, not Sanitation/Trash (1821XXX).

I've read a lot of the "sales pitch" PDFs, but wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall during their actual presentations to the mayors and bureaucrats? I'd love to see how each knock the other system (oh those costly monthly fees, ohh you know you won't hear your deputies when they're visiting Columbus!), then talk about how great it is to all work together.

TG 56219
On TG 56219 heard traffic regarding bridges, docks, iron workers, and piers sounds like something more than streets.

TG56246 & TG56252
TG56246 (1823XXX): Monitored traffic this afternoon regarding property management, getting water running again at a rec center and the spreading of salt at another location. Sounds like a maintenance department.
TG56252 (1823XXX): Traffic regarding truck repairs and parking repaired trucks inside for the weekend. Sounds like a city maintenance garage. Also users on this TG make calls using the last 3 digits of their radio ids.
Example: user with radio id 1823424 makes calls as 424.
