Bud:

I have for my own use TG 26252 as the Parks Garage.

For my own use I have:

TG 56219 as Streets Oper 1
TG 56003 as Streets 2
TG 56013 as Streets 3

Streets 2 and 3 seldom used.

I have noticed that what I think is a supervisor of an area (Zone or district) calling on the Streets Oper 1 channel requesting a contact for a unit in his or her area for comms. Then the Streets Oper 1 contacts the unit via voice or page. Then the Supervisor talks to the requested unit.

I have heard comms on Streets 2 between units. Usually talking re: snow plowing together. I have only heard eastside units using this TG.

Seldom heard is Streets 3.

Yep Radio IDs seem to follow the units calling on some TG's

Default Cleveland Sanitation TG's

Re: Sanitation TG’s for City of Cleveland.

Please note that trash pick-up in the City of Cleveland during the week is scheduled from the far reaches of the City on Monday and moving towards the inner City and completion on Friday. You can research this on the City of Cleveland Home Pages.

Of course holiday scheduling would effect collection days.

In saying this it may be something to note that I’m sure that the City would share resources such as truck units.

Example a unit that worked the Far East or Far West or South on Monday would be used elsewhere on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday closer to the inner city.

You may identify that Radio Id unit as being East or South or wherever during any given day by comms heard and assume that unit to be assigned to a certain TG re: East, West, Central or whatever. This may not be correct. I made this assumption which I believe is wrong.

Identifying TG’s for the Sanation Department via location (east, west, south, central) may not be the way to go. Example: one Unit Radio Id showing up in mulpitpule locations, (east, west, south or central).

Maybe Sanitation Operations should be addressed as 1, 2, 3 or-whatever.

Note: units begin with the Radio Id of 1821xxx.

I’m not into monitoring garbage trucks but trying to address the data for RR.

Just a thought.

Any comment or help.

GHF

Had a hit on TG 56245 early this AM. Defiantly another streets (snow plow) TG. Just an FYI for the data base.

Hearing testing activity on TG56244 and TG56255. There were references to Forestry East, West and Base. Base was also referred to as Zone 1 base.

During a conversation on TG56255 it was referred to as the East channel. TG56244 was referred to as the Forestry Base channel.

The radio ID's that I heard on both TG56255 (East) and TG56244 (Base) I also heard on TG56246 (West??).

The radio ID's were 1823XXX, the last 3 digits of the ID were used for radio calls. Other users have noted that radio ID's 1823XXX are being used by Parks and Recreation. Is Forestry part of Park & Rec?

Can anyone provide additional or supporting information regarding these TG's?

Smile Cleveland Fire and EMS

I hope Fire&EMS move soon i'm sure both will be done at the same time so both can use the 1st.responder channel and Metro Hospitals Trauma Channel.

Default TG56245 Update

An update on TG 56425. Might be off on assuming 26245 is a streets TG. What I heard was plowing a parking lot on Fulton during the big snow this weekend. About an hour later I heard unit # 200 to 2??. Metro Parks units start with 2. The zoo is in the area of Fulton. Metro Parks covers the zoo. I know there on Cuy-P-25 system. Could they be on both?

I wonder if the AG's findings on the Officer involved shooting from November will speed up the implementation of the new system for the PD.

Wishful thinking, but sadly, Cleveland's had a decade of a failing radio system. They've let it crumbled to a point where even the best McGuyver can't scrounge up enough parts to make it work. The current replacement project began in what, 2006?...and pretty much moved at the pace of Cleveland government.

Will it accelerate the install? Doubtful. As you probably heard the CPD 1st District traffic of not having working stop sticks in over three years. Stop sticks are a tool that costs about $300 a piece, and they don't even replace those.

But they have the garbage trucks on a state of the art P25 system before safety services.
Go figure.

Seems reasonable to me to have users like public works use the system first to discover any technical issues with the system or subscribers before cutting over critical public safety users.

Default 56169

I have been hearing alot of conversation on tg 56169 concerning the location og manhole covers in the Tremont area which is on tne near west side of Cleveland. Assuming it is either sewers or water.

That's exactly what they're doing. Trash collection does not generally involve life safety issues.

Default City of Cleveland Project 25 TRS

There's one thought that says let the public works folks work out the kinks in the system, another school of thought that says replace the failing legacy system immediately, and deliver first responders a quality communications product.

Look, the Sheriff's office had no problem being an early adopter of the new system.

Again, hence the name of the system as GREATER Cleveland .. But I guess those Southwest communities will just have to accept that RR considers them Cleveland ..
