Default Tg56239

I was out and away from the radio most of the day. But I see multiple hits for TG56239 showing.

Anyone catch enough traffic to identify?

I listened to it for about 2 hours this morning at Broadview and Brookpark but none of the transmissions made any sense. They were all just a dispatcher spitting out a series of numbers and the radio replying "Copy".

Broadview and Brookpark, you were less than a mile from my house. I live just east of there. Just south of the Cleveland Schaaf road tower.

Bud,

I should move over there. Between my numerous visits to the camera repair shop there and my visits to Berea Depot street I could save big bucks on fuel costs, lol.

Someone's teaching a class on 56003 on how to operate the radios.

"I talk to the back of the radio, the microphone will pick up my voice." "It doesn't matter which way, I'm holding this radio, because it will pick up!"

Good purchase guys ;-)

Is 56239 CMSD Buses?

This is actually a feature of the APX handheld radio, there are microphones on both the front and rear of the radio housing. The radio automatically determines which microphone is closer to the user and uses both microphones for noise canceling.

CCSO had multiple channels in the UHF world, anyone ID this as main dispatch? Or like a detective/tac talk group?

Default Cuy Co SO

Received hits on Tg 56547 and sounded like Cuy Co Prot Services. Retired from there aftyer 28 years and am familiar with the traffic. Will continue to monitor. Also, is there any talkgroup for the Cuy Co Jail yet?

Steve,

There's a submission handing out for 56547. It only included the ID and name. Cna you give me some more information on Cuy Co Protective Services? Is it part of the SO? It is Law Enforcement or some sort of Public Service Unit?

Thanks!

Default Cuy Co Prot Services

They are under the jurisdiction of the Cuy Co Sheriff. They used to be referred to as the Cuy Co Building Security when they were under the County Commissioners. After the corruption invest and convictions, things changed. New form of govenrment in Cuyahoga County as it is now charter governments. Sheriff is now appointed by the County Executive and Building Security became Cuy Co Prot Services under the Sheriff.

Steve,

Thanks for nailing that down. Last week I heard traffic on TG56547 referring to Protective Services. When I Googled it I came up empty. So for the time being I labeled it Building Security on my scanner.

I see the RR database has been updated with Protective Services and the Sheriffs Office.

Is Cuyahoga County Protective Service dispatched out of the Sheriff's radio room?

Did I hear correctly that their dispatch is "700" and the SO is "701?"

Default Cuy Co SO

The SO dispatch is "701" dervied from KDE701. From my recent monitoring, they are dispatched out of 701. Not familiar with "700".
Still looking for a talkgroup for the Cuyahoga County Jail in the Cleveland Public Safety P25.

It's amazing how those legacy UHF call signs will live on after they transition to trunked radio systems.

You heard a lot of OSHP dispatchers and field units use the old call signs after the MARCS deployment to the field.

I think Solon PD still uses "340" in reference to KQE340 as their dispatcher on the new MARCS P25 system.

I thought I heard a 400-4?? dispatch on this talkgroup also today. Also a couple of days ago I heard them dispatched to Glenville Day Care on 112?? St. Clair. I'll keep my eye on this also.
