The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Turnpike Commission are two completely separate entities. If all you want to listen to is the OTC that is fine.
If someone wants to listen to OSP anywhere else throughout the state, then a digital capable scanner is needed!

I live in Clinton County, close to Warren and Clermont. I monitor what I can on my old-school BC-140, but am shopping for a new TT scanner. I monitor local Police/Fire/EMS and some air traffic.

I live in hocking county and woulod like to be able to listen to the local fire departments and such.

if you could share any kind of info it would be great.

Hi all,

Newbie to scanning here, though I did have a Class B amateur license when I lived in the UK. (FM only - 144Mhz and above).

Now living and working in Mentor, Lake County and listening to anything that flies with a BC246T handheld.

i monitor,cuyahoga,medina,lorain,lake,summit,also i'm a volunteer in washington county (marietta ohio)i monitor morgan,noble,washington,countys.
i drive threw summit,stark,tuscarawas,guernsey,noble,wayne countys when i travel to were i'm a volunteer with a rescue squad dept in washington county.been going their for 10 years now as a volunteer.i have a radio shack pro-2096.

You live in one of the nicest areas in the state of Ohio in my opinion. Nice to see a Tuscarawas area listener on - I don't ever see anybody representing from your area.
