There is a warbling interfering signal on their repeater input 428.075. Coming from NW of Twinsburg. I can hear it here in T'burg. If anyone in the Bedford Hts area can listen to that freq I have an idea where it may be coming from. It's not present all the time. It was also on the Solon FD input freq.

Thanks for the info.
Gee, if Twinsburg (and the rest of northern Summit County PD / FDs) would join the 21 century and become part of the Summit / Akron 800 system, they wouldn't have this problem !

Not sure what you are driving at dlwtrunked. Joe hasn't updated that page in a good while. RRDB is closer to the truth.

Aren't there something like seven different community trunk systems, not counting MARCS in Summit County. Sounds like over kill.

Just curious, how do you suggest they pick a system? I see you suggested Summit / Akron 800.

A lot of those people have moved to the Summit Co. 800 system if you look at the notes on the individual systems in the database.

I only suggest Summit / Akron since it is a countywide system .. and the system has a tower in Twinsburg, so I'm assuming coverage would be outstanding. I realize it makes far more sense that all the northern communities all move, since they pretty much operate as one with auto-aid, mutual aid responses. And I'm guessing money is the big factor. So if their existing system has issues and narrow banding is a future concern too .. maybe now it's time to spend the money and join the future.

There are only 4 trunking systems used by PD/Fire/EMS in Summit County. Those four are Bath, Barberton, Richfield, and Summit 800. I know it looks like 7, but the South Summit County, Cuyahoga Falls, and University of Akron systems are strictly city service TG's.

Bath was part of the Summit 800, but they were having coverage issues in the western half of their city. They created their own P25 system that will merge with the 5 tower Summit County system once it converts to P25. Barberton and New Franklin are also in the process of switching to P25. That system will also merge with Summit County.

As for Twinsburg, and other North agencies such as Boston Heights, Macedonia, Hudson and Richfield, they really do need to switch. Ed is right, money and politics are what is stopping them from switching.

Default Summit Radio System Presentation

I found a link for a presentation regarding life cycle proposals for the Summit County - Akron 800 Mhz System. It shows the history of the system and two possible plans to move forward including the P25 option.

Do I understand correctly that Twinsburg is in line to join a new system? Assuming Summit County, but is MARCS P25 possible?

I seriously doubt that anything will happen at all. Certainly not soon.
