Angry Oh Good Grief!!

Anyone want to buy a scanner? (JK)
What is that obnoxious tone thing now on the 423.775 Solon / Chagin FD freq?
I assume it has to do with linking to the P25 system?

It's worse than the MDC.

Well it's some kind of "roger beep" on the units. Just started this afternoon. Maybe they are just testing it and it will go away.

We have 1 fire department here were I live, and I think every darn one of them has done it to their radio, and its very annoying to have to hear it.

My 2 cents on the sound.

I feel for You.

Probably the talk permit tones (three quick beeps) from the dispatchers trunked radio being heard over the patch. You can hear the same thing when one of the west end (Willoughby/Wickliffe?) Lake County departments tones out their department on 46.14

If they are talk permit tones then they should only precede dispatcher transmissions.

Appears that's it. When I first heard it it seemed the transmissions were alternate dispatch and mobile and I just assumed they were on the mobile. But now I see it's the beginning of dispatch xmission.
