Axp, if you're still around...Swipesy pretty much nailed it.

For those of us who actually live in NE Ohio...we have been battling the inconsistencies of good/bad receive with the new P25 systems (Lake County, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland). We are in new, somewhat uncharted territory, and getting good receive on these P25 simulcast systems has been a crapshoot.

LZ56 also nailed it...one day it's good, and another day it's bad. Location, time of day, particular scanner, and I am convinced weather affects the receive too, as others have also reported also.

A number of us are waiting to hear how the LSM (simulcast) fix for the bc396xt will work on the above P25 systems, which was just released yesterday, for those who own one.

Hang in there!

I did not install the new HP-1 firmware. People in the Uniden forum are reporting mixed results (some good, some bad), so I want to wait and see how it plays out. Usually distortion isn't a big problem here, so hopefully today was just a fluke.

Good info, I'm also in Mentor and wouldn't mind having a good all around scanner. Anxiously awaiting the results of the updates.
