Your radio is fine and reprogramming won't help you. Toledo is on a P25 simulcast system, which scanners have a hard time with.

The scanner working in the store and not in your apartment a very common complaint when trying to monitor these systems. The most important thing is location, location, location.

The best advice I can give is try moving the scanner around until you find that "sweet spot" in your apartment.

Edit: What type of antenna are you using and which part of Toledo are you in. The key to receiving this system is try to limit the number of towers the scanner can pick up. I know that sounds the opposite of what you would want but trust me.

Experiment with all kinds of stuff. Try turning on the radio's attenuator, sometimes reducing the signal will help the radio lock onto the right data bits. Move the radio around your place. The problem is that their are several towers in Toledo and all of them transmit the same info. You need to eliminate the signal from all but one.

Jerry...I have a Pro-106 as well and a local group right here on RadioReference, you need to join. I live on Whitmer Dr and have been in to scanning for over 40 years. Send me a e-mail at panther@bex.net and i will send you my phone number. We will get you fixed up in no time. JIM
