Question Monitor OSP

I have a PRO 106 and I was wondering if there is a way to program a scan list (I know how to do the programming) to be able to monitor all of the OSP regardless of where I am in the state? Or if anyone could help with the counties/towers I would need to program north to south along I-75?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I recall this has come up before. Do a search in the MARCS sticky.

Hmmm... I don't see that sticky anymore. Try the whole Ohio section....

You might try the Monix Website and their Yahoo User Group. They have a wealth of Scanner information on their sites. They specialize in the Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio area but have much more scanner information that may assist you in your info you are looking for.

If you can't find a scan list for i75 in Ohio then you'll have to create it your self.

Start by listing the counties that i75 travels through.

Then use the following link to look up the MARCS towers in each county. You only need the active control channel for each tower.
Ohio MARCS - Multi-Agency Radio Communications Trunking System, Statewide, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies

Create a TSYS (trunk group system) for MARCS, set its trunk type as Moto.

Then I'd create a Group Wild Card, that way you will get all of MARCS traffic (including OSP).

You should be good to go.

One note, if you only want to hear OSP traffic you'll have to look up each OSP TG by it's site/post county number. Example Cuyahoga County is 18, so OSP post 18 talk group TG16608 is the Cuyahoga OSP TG. That will be a lot of work.

Good luck.

If you're hoping to hear everybody in the state from a single location, it can't be done. The system doesn't work that way.

Aside from that, you can certainly create a scan list of all OSP posts to scan as you travel through the state.

I have a couple of files that cover I-75 from the Michigan line to Kentucky, they are p500 files and i use them in my pro-106. If you can open them i would be glad to send them to you. There are conventional freq as well, with all MARCS towers. If you are interested,e-mail me at panther@bex.net.

Happy Scanning,

JIM
