Walbridge PD will use talk group 10556 once they move over full time. I have logged nine radios in the 87800xx ID range that have done some brief testing, chatting and such. Looks like talk group 10557 will likely be a PD secondary channel. Their new radios have been seen affiliating there and to various other known and unknown/unconfirmed future Wood County talk groups since that particular set of new radios showed up back in October. But no indication of any full time use, just some limited mutual aid and chit chat type usage as of today.

Walbridge PD has moved to the Northwest Ohio Regional Public Safety System.

I have not heard them on 460.325 for a few days now.

Jeff, I shipped and setup a Homepatrol scanner for a customer in Wood county,Looks like that is directly SOUTH of you?
He is not hearing Walbridge PD on it.
I dont know that area but am I correct there are no Towers for this system in Wood county?
I guess my question is should any one in Wood county be able to hear sites in Lucas county ok?
My fist thought is he might have a recption issue he lives in Walbridge not sure what part of wood county that is in.

I did email him to try to enter each CC freq to be sure he able to hear atleast one sites CC.
Thanks for any info.

Yup, Walbridge is south of me. Correct on no NWOPSS towers in northern wood county, but from what it seems all northern wood county subscribers have been running fine off the lucas county simulcast site. I believe other folks are getting the system fine from from wood county, but not too sure on their setups. I know ctpd845 has his feed for wood county and covering some digital talk groups, so he can maybe comment further. Walbridge is in the northern part of wood county and not that far from the lucas county sites, but may be somewhat of a reach with stock antenna. Definitely best to confirm if even getting the system/control channel, from checking logs walbridge pd has been active on their new talk groups. I have been out of town and too busy to even listen much, but would receive something if getting the system, but also a small PD and not super active as well. The 853.1625 is the current control channel, dont have the home patrol in front of me, but ya if you analyze the system and step to that channel to confirm reception. Or open up searching to other talk groups to see if something comes in at some point.

Sorry it took so long to chime in, I have been very busy lately.

Walbridge PD is a very small PD and most of the time they only have one officer on duty. I monitor them at work and during an 8 hour shift I can count on both hands how many times I hear them talk. So it may just be an issue of they are not talking when your customer is listening, trido.

As jpryor said, there are no NWOPSRS towers in Wood County but reception for the users is very good. I have yet to hear an officer from any of the northern Wood County department that uses the system complain about it. There are several towers in Lucas county that would be 5 miles or less from the border of Wood County.

Also as jpryor stated, I do have all the Wood County departments that use the NWOPSRS on my feed and I live in northern Wood County. As with all P25 CQPSK simulcast systems, distance from the towers is not the most significant factor in receiving the system. Most of the northern half of Wood County should be able to listen to this system as long as the user finds the right antenna setup, which is the hardest thing to do.

The most sure fire why to receive the system is to have an 800 mhz yagi antenna pointed at the nearest tower. Other then that tyring different antenna / location setups should yeild good results. It took me several weeks playing around with my setup for my feed and it's still not 100% but I feel it does a good job. I'm using a mag mount, wide band antenna on top of a gun safe, so trying somthing "uncoventional" might just be the key.
