Montgomery County is currently looking into to joining MARCS-IP which would include the City of Dayton. It's still at least a year off before that will happen.

Do you by any chance have a list of counties that are looking to join?

The following counties have executed partnership agreements with MARCS, in which they build their own tower sites and share the MARCS controller:

Clermont County (Tier 4) - currently under construction
Clinton County (Tier 2) - currently under construction
Franklin County (Tier 4) - currently under construction
Greene County (Tier 2) - operational
Warren County (Tier 4) - operational

The Tier levels are:

Tier 1 - subscriber only using MARCS towers and paying MARCS subscriber fees
Tier 2 - county which builds their own tower sites and asks MARCS to handle the maintenance and subscriber management
Tier 3 - county with separate standalone system connected to MARCS
Tier 4 - county which builds, maintains and manages their own tower sites and subscribers but shares the MARCS controller
Tier 5 - county with separate zone controller connected to and part of the MARCS network (Lake County/Zone 2 and Jefferson County/Zone 3)

Montgomery County / City of Dayton and the City of Columbus have stated the intention to enter into Tier 4 partnerships.

See http://wiki.radioreference.com/index...l_Partnerships for a bit more detail.

I believe Butler County will become a Tier 5 partner here in early September.
