hey people--i recently moved to northern summit county from the eastern suburbs of cleveland. there is a tower that the MERCS system uses just down the street from me. the signal is strong and clear on all transmissions. the problem(everyone should be so lucky) is that i have logged at least 20 talkgroups that are not listed in the RR database. i did identify one and submitted it for posting. unless i spend hours listening there is no way i can identify all of them. as i sit here typing i have logged 2 more unidentified talk groups. if anyone that monitors this system(i have a bc396) can help or would like to exchange info please contact me. thanks in advance.

There are quite a few of us that regularly monitor that system. There's a stucky in the forum where we are trying to ID several TGs. One of which, I think, is the one you submitted (Lakemore FD?). That one will need to be corrected once Lakemore moves sometime soon. Several of us are thinking that this is a Lakemore Citywide, but we can't tell as it may just be a patch between summit and south summit.

As for the list of things we don't have logged. Post it here. We can then get several of us listening over time to ID them. I also have the ability to record a single TG and can trend a TG over time this way.

I'm just about to submit a new one myself based on audio recording.

Most of these were listed as 'unid' and Lindsay has asked that they be removed to clean up some database space.

Some are known:
3504 runs fulltime encryption
7488 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
44224 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
35424 - not valid, summit TGs are multiples of 32
9328 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
8304 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
9312 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
24672 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
7424 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
33434 - recent activity this week, sounds like digital TG for Summit Fire 1 ??
2128 - unknown APD?? traffic
24320 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
960 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
7616 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
53376 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
29264 - doesn't seem to be valid (nothing around it in known TG list)
37392 - already in DB as Mogadore PD TAC 1

ones I know need tagged:
34448 - Norton something (heard service dept on weekdays, FD dispatcher on weekends)
36816 - Lakemore/Springfield PD traffic refered to as 5B (need real name for it)
37200 - link between Lakemore PD/FD, needs corrected in DB (waiting for South Summit to move to see if was just temp patch between systems)

All of the UNID TG's used to be listed in the database until they were removed for some reason:confused:
They were removed by ME at the request of the other DB Admins. We are trying not to put unidentified talkgroups in to the DB because they waste space.

See. Patience pays off. Got another one today. Was listening to Munroe Falls doing a training on 36336 (32 up from MF FGND2). DB update submitted.

Also,
I can confirm that 36816 is some kind of link between Lakemore and Springfield PD. I could use another set of ears on it to figure out if the call it something other than '5' or '5a' (holdover from old system).

That means that 36976 is marked correct as Springfield only.

Let's keep the good updates coming kids.

OK. I'll admit this is weird. I'm all hooked up to record now. I just tracked a ton of mike keys only. They started on Fire 1 and hit several things we don't have logged yet. I'm keeping my ears on. Guess Green testing????
