Hello to all,
I've been actively scanning the 450/460 bands recently, and have come across 6 new LTR systems here in Franklin County. I'm not sure if they're of interest to any listeners here, but for the sake of completeness of the Database, I wanted to pass them along.
For the ones that I have complete information on, I will be submitting them to the Database. It looks like the Comtech submission I made went through, so I must have finally got this right! For the others system that I have partial information on, if anyone else can help identify the remaining frequencies/repeater numbers, that would be terrific!
COMPLETE SYSTEMS
"System 1" (WCMH Tower, Columbus) (identity unknown, found this by DFing around town using a directional antenna and a radio with a very stubborn s-meter and attenuation. Confirmed with Signal Stalker II on my Pro-97 when next to the site)
454.425 R01
454.525 R09
454.325 R10
454.125 R13
"System 2" (WOSU Tower, Westerville) (identity unknown, also found by DFing)
454.050 R03
454.275 R07
454.500 R11
454.150 R15
REM Communications (Big tower on 315 opposite the Target in the Lennox Shopping Center)) ADDITIONAL SITE
451.9875 R03 (WPPD896)
452.8750 R07 (WPPU401)
461.1500 R11 (WPPU401)
461.5500 R15 (WPPU401)
464.4625 R19 (WPPD896)
PARTIAL SYSTEM INFORMATION
Center of Science and Industry (COSI) (low-power system, probably will be tough to hear outside the outerbelt. Repeater information is all confirmed except for R13, I am not 100% certain about that one, but if they follow the numbering pattern of the rest of the repeaters, that would be it. Lots of activity on R05 and some on R09)
451.3125 R05 (WQFP812)
451.7125 R09 (WQFP812)
452.1875 R13?? (repeater number not confirmed) (WQFP812)
452.6625 R17 (WQFP812)
Limited Logistics, Easton (lower-power system, I can barely hear it on the northwest side of Columbus. Not sure if I got all the repeaters, but here's what I've found to-date)
451.825 R01 (WPWI463)
461.125 R03 (WPWI463)
452.975 R05 (WPWI463)
462.375 R07 (WPWI463)
Limited Logistics, Reynoldsburg (has good coverage. Also found by DFing. There HAS to be more repeaters than this one, but here’s what I’ve found so far)
451.625 R06 (shares frequency with a warehouse (Abbott Manufacturing??) DCS032) (no license information for the Limited usage)
UPDATED INFO
Childrens Hospital
463.000 R01
463.025 R03 (Additional repeater) (WPXF416)
463.150 R08
463.175 R16
I am also compiling a list of conventional business frequencies in the 450/460 range here in central Ohio, many of which I've been able to confirm. If there is any interest in that information, I would be happy to share that as well.
Happy scanning!
