I've been hearing it a lot recently in the daytime as well as night. Heard as far south as Cadiz, Ohio.

My mother still has broken crystal glasses from the 60s when that thing was more common. You'd think they'd have the plane fly over Lake Erie and do that rather than over populated areas. The sound travels a bit but still....
