I have a Pro-96 and am trying to monitor LifeFlight, MEDEVAC helicopters in the Cleveland area. Searched the archieves a bit to no avail. I thought I had all of the MARCS freq entered for my area (Lake County - Madison Twp)and I also entered the Dayton freq, but the only flight info I hear is typically on the Lake County MotoII APCO-25 channels when the helios are talking to fire crews on the ground. I'd like to be able to get dispatch and more importantly the communication between the helio medic and the hospital when in route to the hosp from the pick-up zone. I see where they are listed on MARCS talk-groups but never get anything on those freq. Also I hear very little of the OSP communications and when I do its typicaly very active one day and no traffic the next. Otherwise I get great range, all of Lake and most all of Geauga and I'm on the lake. I think I may be missing some frequencies. Can someone help as to what specific freq or the city name/county in the MARCS list that I need to have entered to get the hospital's helio communications? My display reads D.+MO then the freq then OH MARCS for all of the MARCS channels. I have the Radio Shack dedicated 800MHz rubber duckie antenna.

Also I have many talkgroup ID's that don't show up on the Lake County MotoII SmartZone, specifically:
4560
6256
5744
1296
3024
976
1456
12016
10576
Any help on these greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

In Lake County the helos don't use the Lake County system for dispatch. In Lake County, you would be interested in monitoring the below:

University Medevac-
Ohio MARCS talkgroups
29952 Comms to UH Hospitals
55152 Main Dispatch
20416 Tac1
20432 Tac2

Metro LifeFlight-
155.385 pl 203.5 Main Dispatch

Stat Medevac-
155.265 pl 103.5 Main Dispatch
155.235 pl 91.5 Comms to Hospitals
159.480 Haven't monitored, but licensed to Stat

Also, you can occasionaly find some helo to helo traffic on 123.000, 123.025, 123.050, and 123.075.

Don't forget you can find this info listed on the RR database under Ohio, then Medical Helicopters/MICU.

For MARCS in Lake County, the below would be worth programming.

Couldent tell ya... maybe a 1B channel for the fire department or something... If you figure it out, put it on the database. I dont think it could... but i think Eagle Protective uses some type of digital radio... so it might be them but i doubt it.
