Politicians. No understanding of operational issues at all. And yet another place 7-800mhz trunking wasn't needed or optimal.
Sounds like the guy in charge of the actual assignments doesn't feel he's going to be backed by the people who can (and would in a heartbeat) make his life miserable. I'd want to see stuff in writing, too!

Is the same Don Lynch that ran Oklahoma County Emergency Management in the mid 90s?
As I recall, he was effectively forced out of office. He managed to run off many good volunteers, obsessed over rules to a point to where functionality of that agency was hampered. Didn't he manage to get their radios removed from NWS Norman? What was effectively his "final straw" happened when OU Police escorted him off campus, after he was demanding a volunteer "surrender" his FBI pass after having worked the bombing, during finals week.
