Some kind of sporting match on today. However, I'm not obsessively running Unitrunker against Site 40.

I do have the 780 on, scanning (searching actually) Site 40, but also some of the old VHF channels. Lo and behold, the old OUPD channels are active!

o OUPD Tac 1 (49168) is patched to the old OUPD channel 1, 154.8000 ("CP")
o 155.7450, the old OUPD 3 is active
o 155.0250, the old OUPD 4 is active, but less so than the others.

Quite a surprise for me! The others may be linked to the DPS system, but I haven't been able to match any traffic.

The 154.800 is pretty much always active and patched during the games, i usually have it on here monitoring in dispatch. From what i understand, they give all the lower tier security/ushers in the stadium high-band VHF portable radios instead of giving them 800 radios on DPS.

Another day, another cricket match at the pitch.

Patches are already up.

OU PD DC -> SMA 1E, LMA 7B, LMA 7E, 2336???

NPD DC -> LMA 7B

Norman ER -> LMA 7G

I'm sure this will change before the game ...

This info may have been pulled from the database (I don't know), but for whatever reason these channels are not in the DB on the University of Oklahoma page.

The FCC database shows these two licenses for those channels: KFF700 for 155.745 and KNGV867 for 155.025. If they are still potentially being used, it would be good to leave them in the DB. But someone who has verified the info (channel #s, repeater inputs, tones, etc) should be the one to do it. Actually 155.745 is in the database but not with the channel numbering described. A channelized list would definately be better. I am guessing that OUPD 2 was talkaround on the ch 1 repeater?

Whoops ... I evidently made those labels in the ol' 396 for convenience.

155.7450 on my way-old list was Sooner Security, which I assume was (or is) some kind of student escort service.

155.0250R (158.8650 input) was traffic and parking details, now on the DPS system.

My bad!

No tones on my list.

Looks like SMA 1I and RMA CN 2I are patched as well. With traffic.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to why SMA and RMA channels would be patched together? Doesn't everyone have both? Are they expecting mutual aid from outside whatever is designated as "Central Oklahoma"?

Peter way way back in time 155.745 was specifically an athletic dept freq. The crews that video taped each game for the coaches use and scouting video exchange with other teams used that freq, simplex not a repeater. 155.025 was the original Physical Plant maintenance repeater before trunking. Since O.U. wisely kept those old freqs alive they have been converted to today's use.

I just heard athletic dept traffic on 155.025-158.865, PL of 179.9

I heard that, too, while we were out and about. Same tone, even.

I set the Alert feature on some VHF channels and that 461 you posted earlier. 154.8000 hits often enough that I took the alert off. Nothing on the UHF freq yet.

Just got 155.0250 again, actually. 179.9 Hz.

I am sure they are, i'll catch OKSO's patch on the SMA every now and then at work, sounds like they are having and issue with the patch to 154.8, the signal keeps dropping out. Also hearing traffic on 155.745 and getting a PL of 123.0.

Interesting. I ran UniTrunker on Site 40 from about 0930 this morning.

Voice channels 854.7875, 855.2125, and 858.9625 never got used. Control channels 860.7625 and 860.9625 didn't get used, either. Voice channels 858.7625, 866.3215, 866.9000 got used less than 500 times, with the first two actually under 100. Control channels 859.7625 and 859.9625 got used for voice less than 400 times.

OTOH, 856.9625, 857.7625, and 857.9625 got used more than 3000 times.

You'd think the traffic would be distributed more uniformly.

I'm thrashing about way out in the weeds now: But, if I recall correctly, not all of the 16 or so voice channels are "Astro" channels - that is to say capable of passing P25 audio. I think that on site 40 there may be four, one of which is 866.7625, the "squeaky pulley" channel. All of the interminable EMSA traffic is confined to however many "Astro" channels there are which might help to account for some of the discrepancy in use. That is, of course, provided that the others listed are "Astro" channels. Just a hypothesis.

Saturday morning on my way to shoot the game Norman dispatch alerted the fire dept. they were going to switch to the "backup of the backup" radio and that they would be unable to tone out fire or ems and that fire and ems would have to monitor their radios for calls.

Sooner Security is a private firm that does some crowd control and other types of security for OU and others.

OU does use officers from other departments in the stadium. I've seen Lawton PD, Norman Public Schools, Oklahoma County SO and others.
