Default GE Orion 100Watt UHF

This radio setup is surplus from Raleigh Police. I have a friend who programmed it for me with 70cm Amateur Frequencies for Raleigh, N.C. area including all of the Amateur 70cm Linking Ham Repeaters in the State. Programmed also with Itinerant Frequencies and also Amateur 70cm Simplex Frequencies.
This radio is a power horse! It is programmed for low power as 50watts and High power as 100watts. I have used this radio for almost 6 months now and it works 100%. This radio has been connected to my Diamond Base Station 2 Meter / 70 cm antenna in a pine tree via LDF4-50 cable. My antenna is perfectly resonant with the point being that this radio has not been exposed to abuse.

I have only one feedline and really want to connect a dual band radio up to the antenna instead of being limited to onlhy 70cm being connected to my external antenna.

I took some pictures with my Nokia N95-8GB phone. 2 of the pictures are what my astron power supply indicates the radio is drawing on low and high power. Another picture is of the setup as it looks installed in my home. One picture is of the sticker on the bottom of the radio. The other picture is the picture of the control head.

The sell includes:
Radio w/slide mount the radio sits in.
Control head with long remote mount cable.
OEM Power cable.
Motorola hand microphone.
Motorola External Speaker.
Not sure what else to say. When you get this radio you will be able to connect it up immediately, power it on and operate the radio. Your only limitation will be that you are limited to the frequencies that are currently programmed in it. Also you need to make sure you have a power supply that will handle the current and of course a resonant antenna or dummy load that will handle the power. I do not have the programming cable however this radio can be programmed just like my friend did for me. I cannot offer to program this radio for you. I am simply stating that when I got this radio I had my friend wipe it clean and program what I liked in it. The power output and memory groups are all custom. For instance one memory bank is Simplex High and one memory bank is Simplex Low. That is just one example of how this radio is setup. The Carolina 440 Linking system is configured in 2 banks...one being all in low power and one being in all high power. Again that is just another example of what is programmed in this radio.

I am open to trading for a 2 meter / 70 cm mobile radio or something along those lines.
I am "asking" $250

Thank you. It was pointed out to me by my close friend that I forgot that I have some DTMF autodial memories loaded in the radio that I need to get out because they are codes for a repeater my friend and I have.
The whole point being that I have to get the radio connected up to the programming device we have to get the codes removed so I think that I can at that time go ahead and program what the buyer wants in the memories.
I am speculating but am pretty sure that I can handle that task since I have to get the radio re-programmed to remove the autodial memories.

I just wanted to throw that in there.
