NOTE: Last Updated 8/13/2009
Please follow these rules. Those that do not follow these rules risk having their threads or posts deleted or moderated without warning.
1. Post only items for sale that are Radio Equipment. No computers, light bars, spot lights, guns, knives, flashlights etc. Radio Equipment only.
2. Services
for profit to program scanners or any type of equipment applicable to the forums is not permitted. Unsolicited offers public or private are not permitted either.
[This is a site-wide rule!]
3. Do not comment on people's posts for items for sale. Don't like their price? Keep your mouth shut! Don't like the item? Quiet! Don't like the person? Sssh... don't post!
4. Direct all problems to the moderators using the report post icon

.
5. Businesses may not
actively promote their services, products, or items here on these forums. You must maintain the spirit of these forums as a place for
individuals (i.e., private parties) to sell their products. Commercial sales will only be permitted if I, the site owner, have given prior approval. I can be contacted by addressing 'webmaster' at the RadioReference domain.
6. For Sale posts from new members are not encouraged. We expect you to be a member of the forums not only to buy and sell but to contribute to the forums as a whole. A characteristic of commercial selling is to only post in the FS forums. Also, creating a posting persona gives people the confidence you are someone who is trustworthy to do business with.
7. Please actively follow your For Sale forum thread. No, people will not ONLY call you or email you. If you are going to use these forums to sell you must follow the thread and answer member's questions in addition to Private Messages if applicable. If you will only monitor your thread during business hours then you are operating in a commercial fashion and your thread will be subject to deletion.
8. Choose the applicable prefix from the drop-down menu when creating a thread. "FS" is for items you are selling on here. "FA" is used when you are selling an item on Ebay and it's not for sale here. If you are making it available here and Ebay then include FS in the subject ("/FS <text>"). When using "FT" (For Trade) please be descriptive in the subject (e.g., Radio X for Radio Y).
9. EBAY Auctions: we have special code that gives a summary of the auction. Simply enclose your auction number like [ebay]1234567890[/ebay].
10. Group Buys, which have not been blessed by me, are not permitted. A "Group Buy" would consist of a private individual coordinating with a business to buy, in bulk, a certain piece of radio equipment at a discounted rate. The individual coordinating the activity would not gain any money by providing the service but takes responsibility in assembling funds for purchasing the lot.
11. To assist buyers, and speed up a sale,
put a price in your listing. If you aren't sure then research it. If you can't find any information ask in one of the forums applicable to the make/model. Posting a price will eliminate arguments on low ball offers which happen very often. Your listing could/will be deleted within 24 hours by moderators if this is not followed.
12. All common sense selling rules are in effect. Please make note that this is a globally available forum. What may be illegal to you may not be in another country. Also, before reporting illegal sales make sure you provide enough details why you think the item's sale is illegal; we are not lawyers.
13. You are limited to a minimum of one week (seven days) - from the date of the last post in the thread - before you can bump your thread without any modification. If you sell an item of a multi-item sale, lower the price or change something similar then you're permitted to "bump" the thread.
Thank you for your attention to this thread.
Warm regards,
Lindsay
