Looking to purchase a used in perfect working condition HF radio for a Christmas gift ... me .

Places like Universal Radio often have used radios on a list - I'd start there. And don't ignore places like AES, HRO and similar - even Grove has 'em from time to time.

Don't forget to use the Wikis if you find yourself interested in either Icom or Yaesu radios. RadioIntel is the place to go for other brands such as Drake and Kenwood. They have a massive page devoted to the subject. It's linked in the SWL and utilities monitoring wikis.
