Default Diamond RH77CA on Ebay

Great deal on a good antenna right now for anyone looking for an antenna for their HT or HH scanner.

Diamond RH77CA 100 Mhz.- 1 Ghz, Antenna w/ BNC Connector NEW 15" | eBay

At this price it would be worth getting one "just in case" as a backup anyway.

If you need an SMA to BNC adapter, lots of them real cheap on Ebay as well.

Disclaimer: I am not the seller, nor do I have any affiliation with the product, just passing it along.

I would stay away from that since the diamond logo doesn't match the font of the one i have. So many fakes out these days. People really need to be more careful these days with so many counterfeit products out there.

I just ordered one.
Comes to $17.95 with shipping.
The shipping is kinda steep, but the total is still a bargain.
I just hope it isn't a knock off...
Thanks for pointing it out!

look at the font, it doesn't match the real diamond font for their log, so probably a fake. diamond's logo is white and has unique font for A and N's. that package has neither.

Don't know what you're looking at but the logo looks the same to me.
The package and logo looks exactly like the one I bought at Radioworld last month.
Will post a pic later this weekend if I get time.

You are correct that there is a lot of knockoffs out there.

looking at the same one i bought. the word diamond antenna at the top is white, and the A has a upside down V in the middle and N's have little horizontal tics that come off each end. same as seen on their website. but who really knows i guess. just my personal opinion.

I just did a quick search on google also for "diamond antenna" images and all have the 'diamond antenna' logo in white, not red like that one for sale. Couldn't find a single one with it in red. In these times, its things like that are RED flags for me not to buy.

I see what you are looking at now but if you look at the whole picture, the background behind the package is reddish pink so I believe it is just a bad pic.
The resolution is not good enough (on my monitor anyway) to be able to discern wether the font is exactly the same or not. There is some sheen (reflection) on the plastic so i can't be sure about the "a".
There is a diamond in the "e" though, same as the original.

If anyone is concerned, then they should probably ask the seller for better pics.

I see it looks more white now to me. Could of swore it looked different earlier. Maybe I'm losing my mind.

I got quick replies from the seller saying it will be in the mail system tomorrow.
Will let you know how it looks and performs once I get it.

I bought one from Radioworld at the York Region Hamfest last weekend. Looks the same as the picture in the e-Bay ad.

As for performance, pretty decent for VHF on FleetNet. Also on UHF, while I was waiting at Islington subway station to pick up my son it was pulling in a Motorola control channel on 420.4 which I suspect was the Petro Canada facility in the Clarkson area of Mississauga.

I like it no matter what it costs.

I would rather support my local vendor. for the sake of a few dollars why buy from canada when we need jobs right here in the usa? think about it.

k3cfc -
This is the Ontario (Canada) forum. Most of us in the forum are from Canada, and by buying the antenna discussed we are "buying locally" in the same patriotic fashion you suggest.

Now we are going to quibble about losing jobs in America for buying a product made in Asia from a Canadian vendor, in a Canadian based subforum.

That's a good thread. I would imagine lots of those get sold at fleamarkets/hamfests and less than reputable dealers all over the world.

Hey Gator, if you can, do us a favour and weigh it when you get it.

Thanks for being the guinea pig!
