When London switched from EDACS to P25 it was said it would only take a few months. Then a few more and more and over a year later! Started to see mobiles getting installed in trucks and have EDACs and P25 in them but not live on the P25 system
Alot of portable testing in the university and hospitals and random buildings thou.. id assume the same would happen here. Switch over from the EDACS to P25 happen in all of about 10 mins. Each EDACS site went down and came back alive as P25 with the same channels.. Happen for all 4 sites and was super fast.
BAM! Done
Once the portable testing starts, thats when it gets exciting for whats next

That's right. It was about a year ago me and a few others were listening, logging and recording audio for Halton P25.
There are enough of us in the area that once testing gets underway, we should have that list populated fairly quickly.

Yeah London did lots of testing over many months... Then on a Sunday morning LPS switched from AEGIS to analog on the EDACS system, which was then patched back to P25. London Fire went the next day, and mid-day Tuesday they shut down the remaining 3 EDACS sites and brought them right back up as P25. Was great to hear London Police for a few days... then they were gone again Once the transition started though, it was over quick.

Peel did lots of coverage testing before switching over from VHF to the current system.
Once that was finished, they patched the old VHF frequencies to the new system and the cars slowly switched over.

Logged some testing with several radios on TG 5001, 5002, and 5004 today. One session ended with an excitable "There we go!"
