The audio you sent is a highly compressed .wma file (and stereo...) - not ideal for analysis. I would really prefer to work with raw .wav data.

Slicerwizard,
I made that recording using the sound recorder application in windows 7. Do you know of another way of recording the audio to get it into the .wav or raw format you require?
Thanks

I confirm the audio you just send is provoice encrypted.

Hi, I have DSD running fine here in Ottawa on provoice, You need a fast computer for DSD to decode audio, however there is another version that works well on slower computers.
There is another version of DSD that Ignores encrypted TG's and this is the one I use. You can also easily tell if a TG is encrypted by observing the DSD window.

I forgot to tell you I am also using a PSR 800 it works very well, and will follow Provoice talkgroups

Do you know what would make a BC245 ignore the digital TG's? It should not be that intelligent. Is there something else going on here?

As far as I know the psr500/600 is the only scanner that will actually follow provoice. Even then it has to be one if the earlier boot loader models with v1.0 firmware. With a d-tap and dsd it works perfectly.

Hmmmm....I'm sure I had to lock them out when in search mode back when I first got the 245.

I can't say for sure, I remember reading the 245 would stop on the tg's but wouldn't hold it or track it. That's why I went with the earlier psr's. It was a total fluke that they forgot to block pv tg's. Every revision of firmware after 1.0 it was corrected and never brought back.

I think we spoke about that before. Wish I could justify the funds.

I have DSD running fine receiving provoice. However, I used to have the same trouble you are having unless I ran it on a dual core processor. What version of DSD are you using?
There is a newer one available that runs quite well on slower processors. It is available here on RR.

the signal is not encrypted
I can confirm that from this screenshot, that the signal is not encrypted.
Would you like me to send you the version of DSD with encrypt ignore? I get excellent decoding with this version. Only if the signal is noisy, will I get a small amount of garble.
Encrypt ignore just ignores the audio, but you will see information scrolling that is very different from what you see with normal audio.

I can't attach the voice file as it is too big, even zipped (808 kb). Is there somewhere else I can post it for you to take a listen? It is about a minute in length.
Merry Christmas

The version is the same 1.4.1
It was member Binome, Message 11, in DSD Windows Port.
His link does not seem to be active, but I can send it to your email.
I don't know if it is available elsewhere in RR

dsd with encrypt ignore
Yes, please send me the DSD version with encrypt ignore and I will try it. I have version 1.4.1 with mbelib ver
1.2.3 but it could be different from the version you have.
It's worth a shot!
How can you tell from my screenshot that the Provoice signal is not encrypted?
Thanks

Mike,
I tried the 1.4.1 version that I had (I was using 1.6) and I'm still getting garbled audio at all levels of IF out put from the PSR 800 and on the line in slider bar in windows. I'm using an intel I5 processor and have decoded P25 signals with no problem??
Thanks

Try using: dsd -fp and see if that works.
I am listening now 100%
I will send the DSD with EI in a few minutes.
