Windsor Winter Control

Wow, I haven't felt well enough to listen to the scanner for a month or more, and seems like I missed many changes to Essex County. Especially with Kelcom.

Since we finally got some snow with a system moving through today, I was able to find the Winter Control TGID for Windsor. It was always a favorite to listen to in the old days before they went digital. Hearing the snow plows out on the roads in the dead of night working their magic. Its TGID 85 in the Windsor Public Safety system and has been submitted so should show up eventually on there.

Sad to see the casino here went TRBO too. Seems to be spreading in this area so much, taking away things even the best scanner can't listen to anymore. I had been seeing the casinos on the other side of the river in Detroit going to TRBO though so I guess I wasn't surprised by this change.

Damn... I was just in Windsor Sat/Sun... I could have checked that out and done some logging. I haven't come across a 900mhz TRBO system yet.

I've been really ill so haven't been on this site or listening to the scanner in quite a while, so got behind on things. Still seems odd to me since what they were using seemed fine to me. Scanning it now to see, but its quiet. Not sure how busy it will be, but I should hear noise or something even if it is still using the same frequencies? I will scan for a while and see. So many changes to the kelcom systems here since I went away. Names of systems changed, so all confused now and will have to check all my programming. Wondering anything has been confirmed before the changes were made. I know that's not always possible though, but maybe someone was just trying to cause a lot of confusion like they did to the Windsor Public Safety System in the past submitting all those completely wrong tgid's.

Tried listening for quite a few hours but heard nothing, so its changed from what it was to something else, but not sure what.

How do you know they have gone TRBO? See them carrying new radios?

I don't know. I didn't submit the change, someone else did. I was just saying what I saw from the link above, and how I hear nothing now on that system. So that's why I said it changed to something other than what it was, and I'm not sure what it changed to.

Ahhhh ok. Gotcha! I'll see if I can sniff anything out thru some of my sources.
