Just throwing this out there. Does anyone have any info on the show thus far?

I know the Snowbirds/Hornet are confirmed..but thats all I can dig up.

I did hear a rumour that we might get some european acts, since all USAF demo teams are pretty much grounded except the raptor demo...

Even a RAF Tornado would shake things up....Oh brings back the 80's and 90's...lol

About 3 years or so ago, the CIAS asked what you would like to see in future airshows, and I remember mentioning if some RAF planes could attend. I also suggested if some Russian planes could attend...I know that's a long shot ! I added if it's possible to have another static display like in 1997 where they did have the Tornados arrive, A10s, F15, Apache helo, T35s, Nimrod and a couple cargo (C5 ?). People were allowed to sit in the cockpits and speak with the pilots.

Yeah, last years show was dismall, many online airshow reviews weren't happy with it either, so if they can't up the excitement for this, it'll be some time before we feel the ground shake again. So far the best 'airshow' was Prince Philip's 4 ship CF-18 escort several weeks ago !

I can understand no USAF demo's as every airshow is suffering the same situation, but surely with a year to prepare, they can secure some european acts. I visit poland every year and they have a wicked Mig 29 and F16 demo there. I am sure they would love to come over here and show us their stuff!

Air Show 2013 Frequencies

Each year I normally tune in to Billy Bishop ATIS to get the Air Boss frequency... usually is posted just before the show as a monitoring frequency.

Billy Bishop

ATIS: 133.6
Ground: 121.7
Tower: 118.2/119.2

Thanks... but not sure I get the 333.300 - not a frequency that I know of? Always willing to learn however... as well as 242.600 for Snowbirds.

Cheers

Will keep scanning King... I can pick up Toronto North just fine from my balcony and Buttonville... but cannot pick up Billy Bishop ATIS... not sure if the CN Tower is interfering... but possibly.

Good thing is the F18 was so loud, I could clearly hear it and enjoyed some of the show from Bathurst and Finch with clear site of the waterfront.

We are on site tomorrow and every year the radio chatter is very active and clear from the site.

Cheers

I had alittle bit of chatter from yesterday on 242.600. Just checked my computer now and there was a hit on 333.300 with some broken chatter

CN Tower is not interfering with your signal. It's just that we're only running about 5 watts on the ATIS transmitter with the antenna pretty low (on top of the control tower)

No Hornet today ? First one to go was the Harrier a bit after 1:00. It was very loud coming back in on rwy 23. Anyone go over by North Lounge ? Art Nalls was doing meet & greet handing out autographed pics !

the harrier and the red star and the dragon were the best this year

Not sure if it is (or ever was) the best airshow in the world. I've seen much better years ago back in Hamilton when I used to work at the airport there. Not only you had the opportunity to see a really nicely put together airshow but also see the aircraft at the static display, talk to the pilots, get souvenirs etc.
I saw the lineup a few days prior to this airshow and shook my head....why even bother?
