Are businesses allowed to use this band now or what?

I have a local construction company using 221.000 mhz

Interesting. I believe 220-222 was lost from ham radio years ago, to commercial use. TAFL shows some stuff in that band in Ontario and Quebec, probably elsewhere. Will give it a scan in this area.

As to whether the company you mention is licensed, or they just bought some 220MHz radios and started using them, is another question.

From the Canadian Table of Frequency Allocations (Apr 2018) https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gs...h_sf01678.html

"In the frequency band 219-220 Mhz, the amateur service is permitted on a secondary basis. In the frequency band 220 to 222, the amateur service may be permitted in exceptional circumstances on a secondary basis to assist in disaster relief efforts".

Odd find really in that band. Almost one of those forgotten areas to check out. You never know what you'll find. Surprisingly this find was found using close call.

Which gets me to thinking. I should've titled the thread 221 Mhz
