PPB Dispatch
Looks like NE (30576) and N Dispatch (10768) are patched all of a sudden on Portlands system?
Central and SE patched 0300-1500?
Anyone have any insight?

The three precinct consolidation occurred June 11th..
We'll see exactly how this plays out with the talkgroups.
North & Northeast precincts consolidated as North precinct.
No more SE precinct.
Central precinct turf extended to the inner east side of Portland.
East precinct extended west to 39th Av.
A very different precinct map (.gif) at:
Precinct Map
.pdf map here with "Radio Overlay":
http://www.portlandonline.com/police...29708&a=228577
EDIT:
found a bit more info here:
http://www.midcountymemo.com/may09_precinct.html
"...the radio overlay areas, indicated by hash marks, refer to patrol districts to be served by
an additional radio network to ensure appropriate coverage during peak hours".
Presumably this means SE Dispatch TG??

Where did 10768 come from? Not listed on RR and not in the latest NW Freq directory.
I had 30576 as Auto Records (same as on RR), but it's definitely a North dispatch channel.

A glitch in my memory... 10704 is the talkgroup I was referencing, just being a bit dopey.

Well... back in '99 or '00, 30576 was NE Dispatch (when they had a dedicated dispatcher, prior to N and NE "sharing" 10704).
After that, at some point, it turned into auto records.
But now, all of a sudden, it's patched to N Dispatch, full time, as near as I can tell.

I can confirm it's 30576 and the new Auto Records is 30768.

Thursday night on the way to work I was getting plenty of hits from those(7472 Central, 9456 SE), but still a lot from the 12752 East Disp as well(even right now). None from any known North or NE TGIDs though?

Ok. It looks like the dispatch IDs have settled down. With the "nets combined" North and Central are patched together and East stays on East dispatch.
Status bit ignored:
East Dispatch-12752
North Dispatch-10704
Central Dispatch-7472
Status bit on:
East Dispatch-12752
North Dispatch-10707
Central Dispatch-7475

Maybe someone could change the RR database to reflect this!? I thought I was getting daffy when I no longer could hear any traffic on N disp, but was watching the police talking on their radio's... I thought WTF, did they go and change it? Wholla, after running the scanner in ID Search mode (trying to ignore all the other random BOEC traffic like light rail, etc.) I found it.
I thought that I was losing it after seeing nothing changed in the RR Database.

Been watching for the last several days. My curiosity was peaked when Dave Chappelle did his impromptu show at Pioneer Square last week. Dispatchers kept referring to the "overlay" channel, reserving Central for the growing crowd downtown. I opened up my 246T, clearing out the usual lock-outs and opening all groups, and I found that NE dispatch (30576) was active. I had always kept the TG available, since on rare occasions in years past I had heard it used when things got busy, not just for recording stolen autos.
Since then I found activity on Central, NE, SE and E talk groups, but none on North (10704) although I have heard activity by 500 units on the N tac channels.
Thanks MIKEPDX for the new maps!

I've tried four times to update the posting at the top and am not having any luck. I will try and get it taken care of later this afternoon.

Database Updated
I think I got all the changes made in the database relating to this PPB change. Hopefully, I got all the info correct.
When I get to my weekend NEXT week (too much going on this week yet and the first part of next week), I will be doing more work on the database for the Portland system, mainly just cleanup work and bringing it into line with the Database Administrator's Handbook.

For those keeping track, All N/NE traffic is now back on North (10704), NE(30576) has had no activity for the past couple weeks, and SE (9456) is designated as the overlay TG...

The patch is still in place. I'm willing to bet if you turned status codes on you'd be seeing TG 10707.
On the 396XT, I am hearing North precinct on 30576.
(the 396XT handles patches intelligently)
ETA: The "active" talkgroup depends on how the console where the patch is set up is configured. So if the patch gets knocked down and re-established, it may appear that one talkgroup (or the other) goes silent for a while.
