Default Linn-Benton 700MHz TG 2005

TG 2005 on the Linn-Benton 700MHz is some kind of detectives. They are undercover tracking people and vehicles and then they follow them around Albany and Corvallis and in some cases they have patrol units make stops. All traffic is in the clear. Working Albany tonight (I actually saw one of the vehicles they were tracking go through my apartment complex). They were in Corvallis the other night. There is no dispatcher on this TG...it is definitely car-2-car.

Question Is there an entry level scanner to monitor these groups?

Is there an affordable scanner that can monitor 700mhz digital trunked?

Was out driving around in the Jeep Saturday and went up on one of ridges and started picking up the Benton County site in Sweet Home, was at 1800 feet though to do it will have to see about a 700Mhz beam.

Picked up a Radio Shack PRO18 2 weeks ago in Corvallis , last one in the district. Also picked up a BCD396T few years back in a pawn shop so you have to look around. Otherwise you are probably in the $300 range.

Check Craigslist or maybe go to hamfair or swapmeet.

What's your view/take on the Uniden home patrol any good for this?

Yes, the homepatrol would be able to monitor the 700MHz.
